Ever since we've known Bela Padilla, she's always had long, dark tresses. But just recently, she surprised us with a new hairstyle: A chic bob cut!

According to Bela, it's her shortest haircut yet! "The shortest I've gone and probably will ever go," she captioned her post. "I can't explain how liberating it is to have my long hair cut short."

There's a deeper meaning behind her makeover, too. "Since I could remember, I've always had long (always dyed black) hair for my roles. And that really is the standard of what a beautiful Filipina is, isn't it? But I tend to associate how I look with moments in my life," she shared. "And Manila will always have me and my long black hair and London now has me in this phase of my life. Short enough hair that I'm reminded where I am every time the wind blows and I feel the chilly air on my neck, in a colour as close as I've been to my real hair colour in a long time. I've never been sentimental or scared about cutting my hair because it grows back so quickly but I always think of work... I'm happy I finally went for my dream cut."
ICYMI, the Filipina-British actress-screenwriter moved to the United Kingdom in 2021, where she is currently taking an acting course called "Advanced Scene Study for Actors" at her dream school, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
