Ever since Hailey Bieber introduced the glazed donut skin, we've been obsessed with it! Little did we know, it wasn't about to end there—the trend has officially branched out to every cool girl's fingertips. Yup, say hello to the glazed donut nails! This manicure features a sheer off-white polish with iridescent chrome powder on top that gives it a milky, pearlescent finish.
Hailey first flaunted the manicure at the recently concluded Met Gala. Since then, a lot of beauty junkies have been copping the look for their own digits. And the best part? There's no need to book an appointment with a pro nail artist to achieve the glazed donut nail trend because you can easily do it yourself! To get you started, here are a few tips and tools to help you perfectly recreate it. Let’s go through it one by one.
How to Achieve Glazed Donut Nails at Home
For this tutorial, we will be using gel polish to achieve optimum wear and color. For this, you'll need a curing machine. This UV LED lamp from Cathy Kathy will get your lacquer to immediately dry.

Step 1: Prep time!
Before anything else, prepping your nails is the key to having your polish last longer. You can use a nail dehydrator to easily have them ready. It helps in removing dust, oil, and bacteria from your nail plate in just a swipe. Cure it for at least 30 seconds before proceeding to the next step!

Step 2: Apply the base coat.
A base coat helps in achieving maximum polish power. This one from Solique instantly leaves on a sticky resin upon application, which gives the varnish extra grip and helps extend its wear. No need to worry about chipping and peeling any time soon! Make sure to cure your digits afterward.

Step 3: Glide on the color!
Hailey revealed that her exact varnish color is OPI's Funny Bunny shade. Due to the hype of the glazed donut nail trend, this has been out of stock everywhere! Fortunately, we found an alternative, and it's Orly's Gel FX in Pink Nude. Don't let its shade name doubt you because it translates to an opaque, milky white finish with the slightest pluck of neutral pink that very much resembles the original one. Once applied, set it under the lamp.

Step 4: Sprinkle on the chrome.
Time for the most exciting part! Smoothening your nails with chrome powder is just like sprinkling on fairy dust that will surprise you with magic. Tip, don't overload the chrome to maintain that milky, glazed effect. Just a thin layer would do!
