You're not seeing a typo. You're really gonna read it as is because Filipino Happy Skin is finally launching its first-ever hair care line with Happy Skin Hair. Cosmo had the opportunity to be one of the first to see and try their innovative hair care products and in this #BeautyFYP, we're sharing the experience with you.
What is Happy Skin Hair?
Happy Skin Hair is Happy Skin's first-ever hair care line. Just like how the brand has been loved for being a pioneer in local skin-caring makeup, Happy Skin Hair, true to its brand's ethos is skincare—but for your hair. Happy Skin Hair is scalp-caring hair care that addresses common Filipina hair issues from within. Happy Skin's CEO Jacqe Gutierrez shared this at Happy Skin Hair's launch at the Koop Studio in Podium on January 15, and Cosmo got to join in, too. "If you care for your face and you care for your skin, you should care for your scalp too," Jacqe shared.

Happy Skin Hair boasts Happy Skin's Powerhouse Four ingredients: Niacinamide, Amino Acids, Tetrapeptide, and Hydrolyzed Soy Protein. Each ingredient helps ensure improvement in scalp health and quality. At the same time, Happy Skin Hair is also elevated by incorporating premium fragrances into the product lineup. The line features top, middle, and base notes for each variant that when combined give off a luxe whiff. Trust us—we've smelled them and they were such a delight to the senses.
Who is Happy Skin Hair for?
Happy Skin Hair is made with Filipinas in mind. Formulated in Japan, one of the leaders in the hair care category, Happy Skin's inaugural hair care line makes use of Japanese expertise and technology with components made for Filipina hair and Philippine weather.
Oh, and did we mention that it's sulfate-free and color-safe? So it can even work for Filipinas who dye their hair!

What are the variants of Happy Skin Hair?
Happy Skin Hair comes in two variants the shampoo and conditioner treatment. Yes, it's not an "either or" situation because it really is a conditioner treatment hybrid. Soft & Straight comes in a pink bottle, which is made to fight frizz and treat damage with its Hydrolyzed Elastin. Meanwhile, Volume & Bouncy is in a blue bottle and it brings life to fine and flat hair through Biotin Peptides.
According to expert hairstylist Suyen Salazar who spoke at the launch, both products may serve different purposes, but you don't need to necessarily pick just one as they can both be used interchangeably too, for maximum effect. I got to experience getting my hair washed using the Soft & Straight variant and with just one wash, my hair instantly felt lighter, smoother, and it smelled immaculate FR.
Both variants have different scent notes too. The straightening and smoothening shampoo and the intense moisture treatment all have Citrus and Basil as a top note, Lily as the mid note, and Oakmoss as the base. Meanwhile, the volumizing shampoo and the weightless conditioner treatment have a top note of Bergamot, a mid note of Jasmine, and a base note of Cedarwood.

Among those who were able to try and test the products earlier was beauty content creator Marj Maroket. In an exclusive interview with Cosmo, Marj shared her own experience with the product and shares that she thinks it's the scent that makes it stand out. "I think it's very unique. Next, I like that the Volume and Bouncy variant is good for my fine hair. It addresses the concern of flat hair and it's caring for my scalp." She then explained that the peptides are really good for stimulating collagen and strengthening her scalp.
Marj shared that what she really noticed was the volume that her hair held for a long time. "I don't wash my hair every day, so even if I didn't, 'di ba usually your hair will be bagsak na after, it was volumized even if I hadn't washed my hair for a few days."

How much is Happy Skin Hair and where can I buy it?
Each bottle of the Happy Skin Hair products retails for P799 each. They're also available asa bundle, so you get both the shampoo and the conditioner treatment complete with a tote (in magenta or blue) for P1,999. If you want just the two products without the tote, it'll cost P1,499. The Happy Skin Hair Soft & Straight and Volume & Bouncy shampoos and conditioner treatments is available both in-store and online starting January 17.
In an exclusive conversation with Cosmo, Happy Skin CEO Jacqe Gutierrez shared that the price was meant for both Happy Skin fans and those new to the brand. "I wanna elevate the entire local hair care category. If we price the products too high, then we will also alienate a lot of people. I wanna be able to try to convince you that it's worth a try." She adds, "If you spend on your skincare, if you spend on your makeup, it's time, for you also to start spending on your hair care."
Jacqe ended our little chat by expressing that she was happy with how much their new products cost, saying, " I feel that it is a good compromise between the Happy Skin users but also the non-users, those who use regular shampoos. I want them to feel convinced that the ingredients inside it, the fragrance you have are justified for the P799 per bottle pricing."
