Washing one's hair every other day has become a popular habit, so hundreds of dry shampoos popped up in the beauty market. ICYDK, if you don't wash your hair often, it can look limp and dull due to the oil buildup in your strands. These miracle bottles of powders and sprays are meant to be used whenever you want to refresh the look and ~scent~of your locks.
In our search for the ~*best*~ dry shampoo, we asked Cosmopolitan Philippines' Graphic Artist, Mixi Ignacio—the biggest dry shampoo addict at Cosmo HQ—to try a bunch of them for the first installment of our new series: Beauty Exam!

Here's what she thinks of each one!
1. Batiste Instant Hair Refresh Floral Dry Shampoo
Price: $7.99 (P431.86)
Where To Buy: Bought abroad
First of all, this dry shampoo smells soooo good! I'll start with the bad news: It's hard to find locally. As for the good news, this is overall amazing. It quickly soaks up my scalp's oil and sweat and makes my hair look like I just washed it a few hours before. The white cast instantly disappears once I brush my tresses!

2. Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo
Price: P695
Where To Buy: Beauty Bar
While I love a sweet-smelling dry shampoo, I prefer an unscented one, which leads me to this find: I can apply as much as I want because it has no overpowering scent. Also, it makes my hair look extra thicc and leaves my scalp oil and dandruff-free. TBH, I'm so in love with this one! The price, though—OUCH. I'll just have to be matipid whenever I use it.

3. Toni & Guy Sky High Volume Dry Shampoo
Price: P1,099
Where To Buy: Zalora, SM Beauty, SM Aura
As the pinakamahal one from the bunch, I expected a lot from this dry shampoo. I love its fresh and minty fragrance and how it leaves my tresses looking healthy and voluminous. BUT, it feels heavy, oily, chalky, and leaves a white cast on my hair like no other dry shampoo. Whenever I try to work it into my strands, the white cast transfers to my hands and my keyboard. Yikes!

4. Hask Kalahari Dry Shampoo
Price: P499
Where To Buy: Watsons, SM Beauty
This made my locks feel soft, but after an hour, they felt stiff, chalky. My scalp became really itchy, too! I think I may be allergic to one of its ingredients.

5. Bench Shampoo & Dash Dry Shampoo
Price: P175
Where To Buy: Robinsons Galleria, Shangri-La Plaza, SM North EDSA, Bench.com.ph
If you want to instantly have that bagong-ligo smell, this is the dry shampoo to use! My mane felt soft and clean right after using it. While my hair did get a bit oily after a few hours, I can let that issue go because this bottle is so affordable!

6. Snoe Hair Heroes Super Fresh Dry Shampoo
Price: P599
Where To Buy: SM Supercenter Pasig, Robinsons Forum, Robiinsons Galleria
This is my go-to dry shampoo after a long commute because it always leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean and soft! I just think it's pretty pricey for such a small bottle. Plus, its powder formulation requires patience when applying. I have to always properly tousle it into the roots of my scalp to help the white cast disappear.

7. TRESemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo
Price: P499
Where To Buy: Zalora, Robinsons Department Store, SM Beauty
This is an amazing dry shampoo to use whenever my scalp feels hot, sweaty, and itchy. It gives a cool feeling whenever I spray it on the roots of my hair, and it also provides insane volume to my strands! However, it does leave my mane a bit stiff (like I used hairspray) and harder to comb. A technique I learned is to style my hair as soon as I spritz it.

8. Lolane Z-Cool Dry Shampoo Fruity Pop
Price: P169
Where To Buy: Watsons
I'm just going to say it: This is one of my favorite dry shampoos ever! For the price, it makes my hair super soft. It feels lightweight and, it does a good job of absorbing oil without leaving the scalp dry or cakey. The best part? It smells like baby powder!

9. Dove Hair Therapy Refresh + Care Volume Dry Shampoo
Price: P280
Where To Buy: Watsons, SM Beauty
This dry shampoo has a refreshing scent, but it's too overpowering for me. The upside is that it can get rid of any odor—especially amoy ulam! What I love about this is it doesn't leave my scalp and locks oily and flaky after every use.
