As I was born with thick kilay, I am blessed enough not to need too many products for my arches. Before the pandemic, I would rely on waxing professionals to keep them groomed since they know the shape that flatters my face and they are already familiar with my ~preferred~ lewk.
But when the pandemic hit, my go-to waxing establishments closed—I had no choice but to groom them myself or else I'll end up with a unibrow, LOL. I never tried tweezing my brows at home before but since only half of my face is seen whenever I head out, I figured it was a low-risk thing to do.
Since I don't have the usual salon tools, I just make do with what I have at home. A good pair of tweezers, an eyebrow razor, mini scissors, and a spoolie brush does the job for me.
Check out my simple kilay routine below:
1. Brush up the hairs and trim to your preferred length.
First, I brush my brows up using a clean spoolie. That way, it's easy to check if there are any hairs that are too long—I can just trim them away. Unlike typical scissors, this one from Shiseido has a curved angle so it's quite easy to work with, even for a newbie like me!

2. Tweeze the stray hairs away.
Once my hairs are trimmed, I tweeze the ones underneath the brow for a cleaner-looking arch. I make sure to pull my skin taut when doing so to make it less painful. Remember to always tweeze in the same direction of the hair growth, too. I recommend investing in good quality tweezers like this one from Tweezerman—I've been using it for *years* already!

3. Clean up the area.
Time to do a little shaving! I hold the razor at an angle and keep the skin taut. Then, I gently work the blade across the areas with any stray hairs—this includes my unibrow. I make sure to do this step with caution by always using a light hand and working slowly but surely.

4. Fill in the sparse areas.
Using my ~trusty~ brow liner, I fill in any sparse areas with hair-like strokes to enhance the shape and make my brows look fuller. When I have extra time, I clean the edges using concealer, but this step is just optional. ;)

5. Set it in place.
To set my kilay in place, I just brush my brows up. I personally love tinted gels since they make my arches look bushier. I usually use a shade lighter than my natural hair to create a softer look. If tinted brow gels aren't your thing, a clear one will work just fine, too.

And there you have it—my quick and easy bushy brows routine! It takes some practice and a little bit of patience but once you get the hang of it, you'll be grooming your arches like a *pro*.
