Fiery red hair was inarguably one of the biggest beauty trends of 2024. Every It Girl was sporting burgundy locks—Alexa Ilacad, BINI Mikha, and AC Bonifacio are some of the most notable ones that come to mind—and we wanted it bad.
However, we understand that bright red hair isn't for everyone. If you wanted to jump in on the trend but found it too overwhelming, we have an alternative for you. Fashion maven Heart Evangelista recently debuted a new hair color for 2025, and we can already see it being one of our pegs for the year. Check it out below:
Heart Evangelista Debuts New "Cherry Violet" Hair Color
On Instagram, Heart posted pictures of her hair color, writing "Chapter '25." Sporting a ribbed turtleneck, tortoiseshell frames, and stacked bracelets, the 39-year-old fashionista looked every bit like a cool girl, but the star of the show without a doubt was her new hair color that she dubbed "cherry violet."

A mix of red with purple undertones, cherry violet is the perfect hair color for those who want something more muted and understated. It's low-key enough for strict offices, but the full effect really shows when the sunlight hits it.

In the comments section, people marveled at how well Heart's new hair color complemented her. Her hairstylist, Ghil Sayo, also chimed in and noted that it could be the newest hair trend for 2025. "The 2025 trend officially started," he wrote.

Other people also agreed, sharing that they're excited to replicate her cherry violet locks with the hashtag #heartmademedoit. Some people also noted that the hair color made her look like she was back in her 20s, and we can't help but agree!

If you've still been searching for a new hair color for the New Year, cherry violet might just be the way to go. Do take note though that this still requires the same care and maintenance as regular red hair: not washing it for the first 72 hours, using sulfate-free shampoo, avoiding swimming pools, and loading up on hair masks.
BRB, showing this to our hairstylist!
