There’s no denying the impact that K-beauty has had on our beauty routines—think glass skin, sheet masks, and K-drama makeup looks. But despite being familiar with (and even having tried) a number of Korean skincare and makeup trends, I never really thought about K-beauty in the context of hair care.
Don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of Korean brands. But if you ask me to name a few that carry hair care, I can only think of one: mise en scène. I’m no stranger to the brand’s Perfect Serum, which is probably also the only K-beauty hair product I can name off the top of my head. So when I first learned about the Hello Bubble All Star Line, I was intrigued.
The line comes in two ranges, both safe for colored and chemically treated hair:

While I love how my hair is naturally wavy, its frizziness is something that has always been a problem. I also have colored hair, which has contributed to its dryness. I’d more or less accept these hair issues and just try to look for nourishing products made for colored and wavy hair. I also wash my hair every other day with shampoo and conditioner, which I find works best for my hair type.
I tried the Smoothing range since it sounded like exactly what my hair needed. My initial reaction to the shampoo and conditioner was that they were super mabango. Their scent reminded me of Jo Malone’s English Pear and Freesia fragrance. The treatment, on the other hand, was very thick and creamy—it probably had the richest formula I’d ever experienced in a hair product.
I used the three products for about a month, still washing my hair every other day. I used the shampoo and conditioner during most washes, then replaced the conditioner with the treatment once a week. Within the first few uses, I noticed that my hair felt softer and smoother. I also loved how long-wearing the fragrance was!
I had my hair dyed two months before I started using the hair care line, then I had balayage plus a treatment done on the third week of use. I fully expected my hair to be dryer and frizzier after that, but I’m happy to report that my hair felt the same as it did before the color job! The softness and smoothness stayed and I honestly feel like they will continue to improve the longer I use the products. So if you have colored or chemically treated hair, or if you just want your hair to smell good, I’d definitely recommend this line.
