Ok, so remember when Maine Mendoza went on a trip to Japan in April where she saw famous sights, gobbled up some delish delicacies, and got some much-needed R&R with her husband Arjo Atayde and their loved ones? Well, she also got a ~*spontaneous*~ haircut there that she hilariously regretted as it was too short, as seen on the TikTok video she posted documenting her experience.
ICYDK, Maine's go-to haircut is usually a lob, though after tying the knot with Arjo in 2023, she got a chic, chin-grazing bob. In her new haircut from Japan, however, she got it done a bit shorter, with her new length ending higher than her chin.
Maine also posted a picture of her crying after her haircut, which, TBH, is something we'd all do after getting a ~bad~ one!

Well, as we all know, trying out a ~daring~ cut only looks good freshly out of the salon, but the moment we take a bath and try styling it on our own, it ends up looking a liiiittle different, LOL. This looks to be the case for Maine, who tried styling her hair to look like a French bob.
"Tried a new hairstyle today in an attempt to make my bob look like a French one but it ended up looking like many things except a cute French bob," she wrote on Instagram. "Sa photos lang pala kaya dayain lol. The struggles of doing your own hair."
In her next story, Maine edited her face into various objects with the same shape as her new hairdo such as a wax apple, an Angry Bird, a makeup brush, and a mushroom. LOL!
"Just remember that you can be anything you wanna be in this world," she wrote.
We love how Maine can always make fun of herself in bad situations, haha! And although she regrets her too-short haircut, she noted on X that she probably won't ever grow out her hair again as shorter hair is much more presko.
She also noted that her hair grows insanely fast, so we probably won't get to see this length for much longer. "Di siya nagtatampo kahit anong gupit ko lol," she shared. Sana all.
