Here's How You Can Get A *Free* Haircut At MakatiMed

Summer is officially here. And the first thing we're changing in our looks is our hair—we just can't deal with a lengthy mane when the temps and humidity levels are through the roof. If, like us, you're planning to chop a huge amount of your tresses off soon, here's where you should go: Makati Medical Center!

You might be wondering, "Why should I get my hair cut at a hospital?" Well, it's for a good cause! MakatiMed is partnering with HEADS by Volu-Med salon for "Gift of Your Hair 2019" hair donation drive. The program is for men and women who want to donate their hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. Instead of having to go to a separate salon to get their strands chopped off, they can simply get it done at the MakatiMed, free of charge.

But before you speed over to MakatiMed, there are a few things you should know:

  • Donating your hair and getting a free cut will only be done on April 10, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cancer Center, Tower One, Makati Medical Center.
  • The minimum length of hair you can donate is nine inches.
  • ~*Gray and white hair*~ are accepted, too!
  • Hair should be clean, dry, and free of any hair products such as serums, oils, and masks.
  • If you've already gotten your mane cut but still want to donate it, you can! Just make sure the hair is tied in a ponytail and kept in a clean, resealable plastic bag.
