Another day, another viral TikTok beauty product to try! This time, I'm putting the spotlight on Issy's new Active Foundation. I've been seeing this allll over my FYP which got me curious if it lives up to the hype. Luckily, I got to test it out, and here are my *honest* thoughts.

What is the Issy Active Foundation?
According to the Filipino beauty brand, it's an oil-free foundation with a "weightless and blendable serum-esque formula" that's enriched with hyaluronic acid. It claims to "camouflage imperfections and minimize uneven tone without accentuating texture, emphasizing fine lines, or clogging pores." It's also designed to "resist sweat and humidity". The self-setting formula comes with a "dewy finish, medium buildable coverage, and all-day wear". The Issy Active Foundation is available in 27 shades that cater to different undertones—warm, neutral, and olive.

My Issy Active Foundation Review
Skin type: Oily, combination skin
Shade: YL 2.5
It makes my skin look like my skin but better.
I fell in love with its dewy, skin-like finish. Ang lakas maka-fresh! Its lightweight consistency seamlessly melts into the skin. It kind of feels like a skin tint but with more coverage. It cancels out redness nicely, but as expected, it doesn't *completely* cover up my acne marks, so I've been pairing it with a full-coverage concealer.

It's ~breathable~.
It's perfect for someone who *hates* the feeling of wearing foundation.
It's long-wearing.
I tried it out on Christmas Eve and I couldn't stop reaching for it since then. I also wore it at my friend's wedding. I did my makeup at 9 a.m., and much to my surprise, my makeup still looked ~*fresh*~ during the wedding reception, which started at around 5 p.m.
NGL though, its finish can get a bit oily throughout the day. I had to retouch my makeup a few times—I used Laneige's Neo Essential Blurring Finish Powder to get rid of shine. Also, it tends to cling onto dry patches, especially around the nose area, so skin prep is a must. But overall, I'm impressed! (I'll go into detail about the products I used to prep my skin below.)

Here's a selfie that shows what the Issy's Active Foundation's finish looks like after *eight* hours of wear. It has melted off a bit, but the coverage was still there:

How I prepped my skin before using the Issy Active Foundation
It's important to hydrate the complexion before putting on makeup so it will look flawless and it would be long-wearing. To prep my skin, I applied Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base (All-In-One Primer and Moisturizer) and of course, sunscreen! My current go-to is Anessa's Moisture UV Sunscreen Mild Gel For Sensitive Skin. To set my makeup, I also used Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder and Dazzle Me's Get a Grip! Makeup Setting Spray.
My TL;DR Honest Review of the Issy Active Foundation
It's definitely worth the hype. Yay for high-quality local makeup!
