There are a few products in my bathroom cabinet that I cannot function without: my Better Than Sex mascara, my Soy Face Cleanser, my trusty brow pencil, and girl, if I'm sporting a winged eye you better believe it's Kat Von D Beauty's Tattoo Liner.

The cult fave glides on silky smooth, offers Sharpie-like pigment, and stays put all day long. But recently, it faced major backlash, and it all started when this post went viral on Facebook.

The writer, Cheyenne Vaughan, noticed that when she removed the ink cartridge from her trusty tube of liner, it was about the same size as the sample version. The photo was shared over 6,000 times on Facebook and inspired others to test their own liquid liners.

Unsurprisingly, people were NOT happy that the brand was seemingly selling the same product for double the price.

Apparently, the drama got back to Kat Von D herself, so she decided to share a rebuttal on her personal Instagram account. In the post, she cleared the accusations and explained that though the cartridge is the same size, the amount of ink inside of it differs depending on the liner size.

In the post, she explained everything.

"The cartridges in both full size liners and mini liners are the same—it's the amount of product inside each cartridge that is different. So, for example, the product fill on our full size Tattoo Liner is 0.55 ml, while the product fill for the mini is 0.2 ml—thats over DOUBLE the amount of product! Any brand who has an eyeliner with similar component on the market will tell you the same thing. You need that much cartridge space for the pigment to flow out."

Welp, that settles that.
