It’s not uncommon for celebrities to face plastic surgery rumors at some point in their careers. Even young celebrities who have never gone under the knife are expected to address the topic, just like how Alexa Ilacad and Loisa Andalio recently clarified that they haven’t gotten anything done for their upcoming soap Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.
When asked about undergoing cosmetic enhancements in the show’s grand press conference, the two Gen Z leading ladies didn't hesitate to put all the rumors to rest. “I really work hard every day to be more fit, especially for this role. Hindi naman retoke but I wanted to lose weight. I wanted to have a different kind of physique for this role,” Alexa admitted.
Similarly, Loisa shared that she didn’t get any form of plastic surgery despite wanting to look slimmer on camera. She shared, “Ako rin. Ang ginawa ko rin talaga nag-diet ako kasi noong first day namin, ang laki ko talaga sa screen.”
Referring to their co-stars Charlie Dizon and Elisse Joson, Alexa stressed the importance of embracing their diversity and accepting their personal definitions of beauty. “With having four girls, I think representation matters. We have different kinds of beauties and that’s being accepted and supported by Dreamscape and our creatives,” she explained. “So that’s why kung si Loisa may ina-achieve siya for herself, that’s for her character and ganoon din naman sina Elisse.”
Agreeing with Alexa, Loisa clarified that they focused more on understanding their respective characters’ lines rather than their physical looks. “'Yung mas binasa talaga namin 'yung script. Kasi wala naman sa itsura yun, ang mahalaga kung paano mo ipo-portray 'yung character mo,” she concluded.
Notably, this actually isn’t the first time that Alexa and Loisa have openly talked about plastic surgery. Previously, both Gen Z actresses have denied rhinoplasty allegations but stressed that they have nothing against those who do choose to enhance their looks.
