Anessa is a reliable sun care brand, and I've been using their sunscreens since they launched here in the Philippines. They recently introduced Anessa Day Serum, a lightweight sunscreen that sounds promising to use especially in hot and humid days. Read on for my review.

What's to love with the new Anessa Day Serum?
This lightweight sunscreen creates a tone-up cream effect. It has a non-comedogenic formula that works for all skin types. It has a "Beauty Beams " technology that converts sunlight into a beautifying filter that makes the skin appear glowing and plump.
Aside from its sunscreen abilities, it works as a serum because it has hyaluronic acid and collagen to reduce fine lines and wrinkles to prevent aging.

How I used the Anessa Day Serum
To make this review fair, I'll share my current skincare routine. My morning lineup consists of a vitamin C serum, hydrating serum, and a gel moisturizer. I skipped foundation (even skin tints) on days I would test out the Anessa Day Serum to see its full beautifying effects. But I eventually tried it under foundation to see if it would live up to its promise as a good makeup base.
Unlike other sunscreens, you don't need to use a two-finger amount for excellent coverage. A one-peso-sized amount of Anessa Day Serum can provide full SPF protection. Matipid, right?

My Anessa Day Serum review
I'll hit you with this compliment someone told me on the first day I wore the sunscreen serum. A friend said, "Your skin looks so good! What are you using?" I just changed my morning skincare routine so it couldn't be the vitamin C serum. I realized it must be the Anessa Day Serum!
In the coming days, I would go foundation-free, and just use Anessa Day Serum as my base. I didn't bother concealing a zit on my chin because I was just impressed with how the pale pink tone-up effect of the Anessa Day Serum improved my skin's overall appearance. Yes, the pimple was still visible but the rest of my face ~glowed~. Since I only needed to use a tiny amount, it felt so lightweight that I forgot I was wearing an ounce of product on my face.
As a makeup primer, it didn't pill the long-wearing foundation I used. I chose a dewy formula to see how far can my skin glow. The tone-up effect did not mess up the foundation's shade or texture. The foundation and the Day Serum worked well together! I highly suggest you go with this sunscreen if you like to wear foundation.

Will I buy a replacement when I finish a bottle? You bet I would.
