Whenever I would watch K-Dramas, I can't help but always admire the actors' ~luminous~ complexions. So when I had the opportunity to try beauty and wellness spa Déesse's "Korean Glow" facial, I was so game! Read on to see what I thought of this beauty treatment:

Name: Patricia

Age: 26

Skin type: Sensitive, acne-prone

Facial: Korean Glow

Déesse describes this beauty treatment as "a deep and revitalizing facial that will leave your skin looking fresh and glassy." It involves the use of a collagen serum and a whitening clay mask. I tried the "glamoureux plus" version, which includes an additional diamond peel treatment. The entire facial takes about an hour!

Price: Rate starts at P1,290

EXPERIENCE

Déesse's French-inspired boutique located in Banawe, Quezon City had a *cozy* ambiance. French music was played in the background. Plus, everyoneincluding customers like mewore PPEs, which also helped make me feel comfortable. Note: This is the first time I had a facial since the pandemic hit.

The aesthetician started by cleansing my complexion. Then, she steamed my face to open up my pores and began to extract my ~active~ pimples and my blackheads.

NGL, the pricking was quite painful. It made me tear up a bit. Thankfully, it only took a couple of minutes! It was also satisfying to see all the gunk removed from my pores.

The next part was the most ~relaxing~ one. The aesthetician spread a clay mask on my face. Then, she applied a collagen sheet maskincluding a jelly eye and lip mask! Aside from that, a LED light machine was placed above me. (Red light was used, which helps stimulate collagen production.)

After 15 to 20 minutes, it was time for the diamond peel! In this non-invasive procedure, a tiny vacuum-like wand was used to exfoliate my skin, removing the dead skin cells to reveal a ~brighter~ complexion. I didn't feel any pain at all, TBH. Also, don't let the word "peel" scare you off—your skin won't actually peel off.

When I left the beauty and wellness spa, my face had *red* marks because of the pricking. But overall, my skin felt pretty good!

Would you recommend the "Korean Glow" facial to your friends?

Yes! Days after I tried the "Korean Glow" facial, I noticed my complexion appeared smoother and brighter. It also had a ~subtle~ glow. (I even got compliments from my S.O.) I would definitely go back for another session! I also like how they have a wide range of offerings—aside from facials, they have waxing services, laser treatments, lash extensions, and more, so you can get multiple things done during your visit. (You can check out their menu here.)

Déesse is located at Unit 7 Kingspoint Building, Nicanor, Banawe, Quezon City. You can book a reservation at 8254-0569.
