Here's a reminder in case you need it: Acne is totally normal. Everyone can have them—even the seemingly flawless celebs we love and follow on social media! Many of them, in fact, have opened up about their breakout struggles online, giving us an unfiltered look at their pimples and what they went through.

One of those celebs is Kyline Alcantara. ICYDK, she opened up about her severe acne last 2019 in a lengthy Instagram post, where she shared that it only started with two zits until she eventually couldn't count them anymore. She also recounted getting bashed and bullied for wearing too much makeup to cover them up. Since then, most of her breakouts have healed and she's at a much better place mentally.

Kyline's current skincare routine is easy and no-fuss.

Since she wears makeup most of the time for her tapings and shoots, Kyline shared that double cleansing is the one step she can't live without. "I always double cleanse since most of the time I wear makeup for work," she shared.

Her current skincare routine is also one that's easy to replicate and follow—perfect for busy girls! "I use cleansing balm... then wash my face and use a facial cleanser, then toner, eye cream, and moisturizer," she detailed.

Her skincare routine has *definitely* leveled up now compared to her pre-showbiz one.

Kyline shared that double cleansing is only a new step in her routine—one that she learned after entering showbiz. Taping schedules can be crazy, so she makes sure to take better care of her skin. She also shared that she's more into SPF now!

When it comes to skincare, Kyline has learned that less is definitely more.

She also warned that not everything you see in other people's skincare routines might work for you—it's always best to do your research and consult with your dermatologist! Another tip that she has? "If you found a product or routine that works for you, [you] better keep it," she shared. In Kyline's case, since she tried Clinique's products and found out she was hiyang to them, she's never looked back!

Kyline's tip for handling her breakouts and post-acne marks? Never be afraid to ask for help.

"I have very sensitive skin, so during my teenage years, it really affected my self-esteem. What I learned was if it gets out of your control, it's best to consult a dermatologist," she divulged. Preach! It's never good to self-medicate, so make sure to set an appointment with a specialist who can prescribe you the proper products to help heal your skin.

If you're dealing with dark spots and post-acne marks like Kyline did in the past, you can try adding the Clinique Even Better Clinical™ Radical Dark Spot Corrector + Interrupter into your daily regimen. It's a *potent* serum that's infused with skincare MVPs like Vitamin C to brighten your skin and salicylic acid to gently slough away the uppermost layers of your skin to reveal a brighter, more even complexion. It also contains Gyokuro green tea extract, an anti-irritant agent, and rice bran extract, an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damaging free radicals.

Even she is not immune to bashers when it comes to her breakouts.

"I was so young then and I was bashed for wearing too much makeup because I needed to cover my breakouts," she recalls. "At first, I was trying to brush it off since I was hoping that it was just a phase."

Eventually, her acne got so bad that her cheeks looked like it was "flaming red" because of her pimples. Kyline even shared that she *couldn't* look at herself in the mirror. "That's when I decided I needed help and consulted a specialist for my skin. It’s really not that bad to ask for help when you feel like you have done everything," she advised.

The most important piece of advice she got from her derma? "Less is more," she shared. If you find your skin reacting negatively to trends like the famous 10-step Korean skincare routine, it might be good to whittle it down to the basics instead!

Water will be your BFF.

Yep, Kyline dropped a truth bomb about something that we already know but we kiiinda take for granted. "Drink lots of water as per my dermatologist!" she shared. "It's the cheapest and most natural remedy for your skin." BRB, drinking our eight to 10 glasses of H2O a day!

Its gel formula is non-sticky, which means no malagkit feeling even in our country's eternally humid weather.
