Pinay YouTubers Who Have Opened Up About Their Nose Jobs

Plastic surgery is often kept a secret. After all, it is a  *personal* decision. But over the years, more celebrities and influencers have openly talked about having cosmetic procedures done.

1. Mika Salamanca

   YouTuber Mika Salamanca is proud to call herself a "retokada." The 21-year-old got real about what it's like to get rhinoplasty in her recent vlog—she even documented the recovery process, too!

   "Kung makikita niyo yung mata ko, sobrang namamaga na siya. Second day pa lang, namamaga na siya. That's totally normal," she shared. Mika also added that she experienced discomfort after the surgery. "Sabi nila mas masakit daw yung tenga kaysa sa ilong, pero hindi. Wala akong nararamdaman na pain at all sa tenga. Sa ilong, discomfort and parang may nakadagan... sobrang bigat sa ilong ko."

   On Twitter, the vlogger thanked her followers for supporting her in her rhinoplasty journey: "Ang cute nung mga comment na 'Bakit, okay naman ang nose mo before, pero kung diyan ka masaya, go.' Thank you po. Thank you sa pagtanggap."

2. Angel Dei Peralta

   

   In 2019, Angel Dei Peralta got a nose job, and in her vlog, she opened up about how her nose has always been one of her insecurities. The YouTuber shared, "I finally decided that it's the right time to do it. Kasi, if there's something I can do to improve my confidence, and you know, my physical appearance, why not 'di ba? It's my body, it's my choice."

   A month after her surgery, she said that she was really happy with her decision. "It's something that I've always wanted to do, and I finally had the courage to do it," she explained in another vlog.

3. Gwy Saludes

   

   Gwy Saludes got a nose job in August 2021, and according to the Wattpad writer and YouTuber, it was an "impulsive" decision. "I was watching a lot of TikToks and vlogs about rhinoplasty then naisip ko parang, 'Uy, gusto ko no'n."

   "Dati kasi, iniisip ko siya pero hindi ko naman sineseryoso," she explained. "Pero naisip ko, kung hindi ngayon, kelan?" 

   According to Gwy, her friends and family were totally supportive! However, she still received some negative comments from others. Responding to her bashers, she said, "I did it for myself. I did not do it for you." 

4. Mae Layug

   YouTuber-entrepreneur Mae Layug's rhinoplasty journey wasn't smooth-sailing. In her vlog, she shared that she got a nose job in March 2021, but she wasn't totally happy with the result. Just recently, she then had a second rhinoplasty surgery called "revision rhinoplasty."

   "Sobrang happy ko na kasi nakita ko talaga yung improvement," she said. "If you're planning to get rhinoplasty, make sure na mag research talaga kayo." Mae also recommended joining Facebook groups like Rhinoplasty Diary Manila and Rhinoplasty Support Group Philippines so you can learn from the experiences of other people, too. 

5. Andrea Angeles

   Getting a nose job is not cheap so you seriously have to prepare for it. "I've always wanted to get this procedure done, but the thing is, it's expensive," YouTuber Andrea Angeles shared in her vlog. In her case, Andrea spent around P200,000 for her rhinoplasty (including her chin augmentation.)

   "Now that nakapag-ipon naman ako, why not do it 'di ba? " she said. "Just make sure that you are doing it for yourself and not for anyone else." 

   When searching for the best doctor for you, Andrea also noted that "you have to research thoroughly," especially since "iba-iba yung mga specialty or mga forte nila. Mayroong mas magagaling sa alar, tip ng nose, [or] bridge."

   Towards the end of her vlog, the local YouTuber also clarified that she's not "trying to promote plastic surgery. I'm not saying that you should get plastic surgery, but if that will make you happy and feel more confident about yourself, then go do it."
