Rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a nose job, is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures out there today. ICYDK, it's a surgery that changes the shape of the nose and involves making incisions inside the nostrils or across the base of the nose and then reshaping the inner bone and cartilage to create facial balance. In some cases, it can also be done to improve breathing.

Usually, people get this procedure done for two reasons: Medical or functional (to fix deviated septums or correct disfigurements) and cosmetic (to change the appearance of your nose in order to achieve facial balance).

Since this is an invasive surgery that requires a ton of downtime, there is still a chance that you may experience complications or risks and side effects, especially if you go to an unreputable doctor who doesn't take into account your lifestyle, and facial symmetry, among other factors. Such is the case of three Pinays recently featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho who shared their story of their botched nose jobs.

According to Lara, Vhine, and Judith, they wanted to get the procedure done ahead of their office Christmas party. The first to discover the rhinoplasty promo was Lara, who shared that her nose has always been the biggest source of insecurity.

"Kasi kapag nag-pi-picture ako, ang hirap po humanap ng magandang anggulo. Kailangan lagi mo siyang i-enhance kasi sa aming magkakapatid, ako 'yung pinaka-pango," she shared.

Lara thought it would make the *perfect* Christmas gift for herself as she had been working hard this past year. According to the promo she saw online, the rhinoplasty procedure was being offered at a promotional price of P55,000 instead of the usual P80,000 to P100,000.

Seeing the doctor's past works online was the push she needed to go through the procedure. "Nakita ko na maganda naman 'yung gawa sa kanila kaya na-convince din po talaga ako," she shared.

In August this year, Lara underwent the procedure and was satisfied with the initial result. "Nung inooperahan po ako, wala naman po ako actually nararamdaman na masakit right after the procedure kasi okay naman po," she noted.

After seeing Lara's posts about her transformation, her officemates Vhine and Judith also took an interest in undergoing the same procedure with the same doctor. A month after Lara underwent the surgery, the two followed suit. However, after a few weeks, the three Pinays started noticing worrying complications.

"After seven days, tinanggal 'yung cast sa ilong ko, nakita ko na uneven na siya pero ang sabi ni Doc dahil lang siya sa swelling. Pabalik-balik po ako dun sa clinic, tinuturukan po siya nga steroid para daw po bumaba 'yung swelling niya. Hanggang sa ika-four months na, last na checkup ko, hindi talaga siya nawawala," Lara noted.

"As in tabingi po talaga 'yung pagkakagawa. Nagpa-checkup po ako sa ibang doctor after four months, sabi nga po hindi po siya dahil sa swelling talaga. Talagang sobra siya ng cartilage dito kaya po siya mukhang tabingi," she continued.

For Vhine, she said that she could feel the tip of the implant on her nose and that it was placed wrong. She also had sinusitis, which further worsened their condition.

Meanwhile, Judith experienced some bleeding on her nose. According to her, she was prescribed medicine by her doctor, which did little to alleviate her condition.

The three women are now trying to reach out to the doctor who worked on their noses to try and demand accountability and possible refunds. The KMJS team also tried to reach out to said doctor, but they declined the interview request.

Rhinoplasty is a procedure that requires thorough research on the best doctor, clinic, and type of surgery that you will get. Being as informed as possible ahead of your appointment can help avoid unwanted complications and side effects in the long run.
