Gone are the days when taking care of our underarms meant choosing a good deodorant and calling it a day. As we continue to learn more about the delicate sitch going on in our pits, we begin to understand that this sensitive part of the skin demands a lot of care and attention, especially given its constant exposure to friction, sweat, and bacteria.

This is why we’ve been seeing more and more skincare trends focusing on underarm care in recent years. From natural deodorants to serums for armpits, there are a lot of products we can now add to our kilikili routine to give it the pampering it deserves. That said, if you’re looking for essentials to add to your product mix or if you’re thinking of switching up your go-tos, you might want to consider applying oil on your underarms.

Is oil good for underarms?

Beauty oil offers plenty of benefits to the body as much as it does to your face. For one, oil provides deep moisturization, which is great for your underarms considering how it tends to dry given friction and the damage that comes with hair removal methods. Oil coats the skin with a thin film that seals in moisture, which helps your underarm skin stay plump and smooth.

Oil also has emollient properties, meaning that it can help soothe and soften the skin. Some Pinays even swear by its cleansing powers, pretty much the same way oil-based cleansers help remove dirt and makeup off the face.

If you want to give it a try, just make sure to use it after you shower while your skin is still clean and damp. Apply a few drops to lock in the moisture and let those pits soak in the goodness that comes from your chosen underarm oil.
