Since it was founded in 2014, Glossier has been known for its makeup products that give you that "my-skin-but-better" look that emphasizes your ~*natural*~ beauty. The cool-girl brand has since expanded to skincare products and even launched a fragrance in 2017—Glossier You.
Glossier You, described by the brand as a "personal skin-scent enhancer," contains notes of pink pepper, ambrette seeds, iris, and ambrox and is supposed to complement your ~natural~ scent. The powdery and musky androgynous fragrance was an instant hit with its loyal customers, and it's been flying off shelves since it was released. Glossier has since come out with different sizes and iterations of the fragrance: a rollerball, solid perfume, and even a *bigger* 100 ml bottle.
Unfortunately, it's hard to get your hands on the Glossier You perfume since it isn't available locally, though you can definitely buy it from resellers online (or ask for it as pasalubong from your relatives abroad). Glossier also ships directly to the Philippines, but the added combo of the shipping fee and taxes can cause a dent in your savings. Not to mention, the price itself: the 50 ml bottle costs P4,400, while the 100 ml one costs P6,300. Definite ouch.
Glossier You Perfume Dupe: Zara A Perfume in Rose
That said, the people of #fragtok and #perfumetok on TikTok have been on the hunt for a reliable dupe of Glossier You, and they found a clear winner—at a fraction of the original perfume's price, too! Say hello to: Zara A Perfume in Rose. Described as a "fresh, sensual, and feminine" fragrance, it contains all the notes of Glossier You but with the addition of pear in the top notes. The best part? It only costs P1,250 for a 100 ml bottle!
Local content creator Krisha Bala also did a review of the Zara perfume and compared it to her own Glossier You. According to her, due to its similar notes, it can definitely pass as a contender for a dupe of the OG fragrance. "You kind of smell the pear, but it's not really that strong. The pear note only lasts for a few minutes, but when [the perfume] really dries down and settles on your skin, that is when it smells identical to Glossier You." She also noted that the longevity of the two perfumes was the same on her (three to four hours), though, of course, this may still vary from person to person.
Okay, we're definitely sold! Time to head to the nearest Zara branch...
