Ready yourselves, because you’re about to see two of your favorite Hollywood hotties put the "bae" back into Baywatch.
Zac Efron and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson are set to pick up the signature red board shorts, starring as two lifeguards in the beloved '90s remake.
Earlier this week, Dwayne tweeted:
BIG NEWS: Welcoming my dude @ZacEfron to #BAYWATCH. Our movie will be big, fun and RATED R.. Like me when I drink. https://t.co/8DPMJSEG9K
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) August 10, 2015
Followed by:
It's BIG. Me and bud @ZacEfron been talkin' bout this one for a long time. And someone get my baby oil. #RatedR 💪🾠https://t.co/Dem85fWMBz
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) August 10, 2015
While Zac is reportedly still ‘in negotiations’ we’re in no doubt that this is happening (even if we have to crowdfund it ourselves).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is set to follow the story of a "by-the-book and very serious lifeguard (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead (Efron)." But, despite their differences, the characters have to work together to defend their beloved beach from an oil tycoon.
BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY DO.
In other words, we see an epic bromance brooding on the horizon.
Although Bae-watch is not due to start shooting until 2016, Dwayne has confirmed it will have an R-rating.
Aside from the inevitable cheese factor, that's about all we know for now, so we'll just leave you with this:
