Celebrity love teams are part of the showbiz industry's bread and butter. Although most love teams formed these days usually involve two young celebs, more and more actors and actresses outside of the age bracket are open to the idea of being a part of one. Case in point: Albie Casiño recently revealed that he is *open* to the idea of being in one!

Albie Casiño Says He's Open To Being A Part Of A Love Team Again

In a recent interview with the press after the mediacon of his latest film Kasalo, Albie stated that he's not opposed to being part of a love team, especially after seeing the success of KimPau (Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino) of What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?

"Before, I would be [like] ‘' am over it, I am turning 31, I am done with that era.' But then we have KimPau, so who knows," he shared.

He also referenced the success of SnoRene, the love team of his Can't Buy Me Love castmates Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, as part of his reasoning behind being partial to the idea of being in one.

"And even to a lesser extent since she is still young, si Maris and Snoop, she had been here for a long time, she is known as a solo artist," the 30-year-old actor added, saying that Maris was successful in her venture in being part of a love team despite already being an established artist.

Celebs who have been part of love teams have spoken up about feeling "boxed" in their respective love teams, but Albie believes that he has already established himself as a solo actor, so he wouldn't mind being associated with a leading lady now.

"Before, I would think I do not want to be known as a love team. But I've already established myself," he noted.

Albie Casiño's Past Love Teams

Albie Casiño + Kathryn Bernardo (KathBie)

Albie was previously paired up with Kathryn Bernardo for the 2010 series Maria Clara, where they were known by fans and the media as KathBie. Despite having the potential to become as big as Kathryn's future pairing with Daniel Padilla, any plans of a follow-up project with Kath were cut short due to him being involved in a highly publicized controversy with Andi Eigenmann.

In the years that have passed since then, Albie has gone on record to say that he has already moved on from missing out on his "big break" with Kathryn.

"I don’t look at DJ and think, 'That should be me,'" he said. "Someone ruined something for me, but my life is perfectly fine now. I choose not to dwell on it. I don't think about the what-ifs because that won’t change anything."

However, he's not opposed to the idea of working on a ~reunion~ project with Kathryn! "Why would I say no? I don’t say no to work in general so why would I say no to work with her?" he revealed in a previous interview.

Albie Casiño + Shanaia Gomez (ShaiBie)

During Albie's stint in Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10, fans shipped him with fellow housemate Shanaia Gomez due to their ~undeniable~ chemistry. He has even gone as far as admitting that he had a crush on her

"Totoo naman, she's a pretty girl. Attracted ako sa kanya," he admitted, although he said that he had reservations about pursuing anything further.

"Crush ko naman si Shanaia but sa mga nakikita komasyado pa siyang bata, and to be honest, it's kinda weird. I don't want her to feel pressured na she has to like me cause of the fans," he explained.

In a separate interview, Shanaia admitted that she and Albie were "good friends" and said that she was grateful to him for showing her the ropes in showbiz.

"We're going through this together. I'm obviously very new to showbiz. This is my first time experiencing all of this. He's great, he's supportive naman. I guess, in a way, he's guiding [me]. He's a good friend, he's funny, he's outgoing. I feel like we're just getting along. We're just enjoying our time together," she shared.
