Truth be told, there is sooo much information to unload every hour of every single day now that the whole world is facing the COVID-19 pandemic. And living in the age of social media does as much harm as it does good in seeking out cold hard facts. With so much going on, almost everyone is susceptible to believing ~fake news~, even our local celebrities. Case in point: Alex Gonzaga.

Over the weekend, the Kapamilya star tweeted about a forwarded message she received which stated that new COVID-19 patients have gotten the disease when they went out on grocery runs. There were also tips on how to disinfect grocery-bought products. The same message circulated online which prompted the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to issue a statement denying the "social media rumors."

Part of PGH's post reads: "There is no such observed trend with our admitted COVID-19 patients acquiring the illness from groceries."

This update apparently already caught Alex's attention when she replied to a Twitter user who called out her previous post. Writing on Twitter, she apologized and said, "Hi yes! Sorry I deleted it na! It was forwarded kasi from a friend na may contact sa doctors. Pasensya na."

This whole sitch just goes to show that we have to remain vigilant in spreading real and factual information especially in times like this. Remember: Think before you click, CGs!
