After the global success of Squid Game, expectations for K-drama originals on Netflix to do just as well are at an all-time high. The next promising contender on the streamer’s list: The zombie thriller All Of Us Are Dead.

This webtoon-based series follows a group of students trapped in their high school. The teens are forced to fend for their lives as a zombie virus, which has already turned their fellow classmates and teachers, rages on around them.

All Of Us Are Dead will air on Netflix this January 28 and as the premiere date draws near, so does the hype around the show continue to heighten, especially as anticipating viewers compare the K-drama to the likes of Netflix hits Kingdom (for obvious zombie-related reasons) and Squid Game (for its dark and brutal themes).

As it turns out, though, All Of Us Are Dead might just be more *disturbing* and violent than the said Netflix series combined, or at least according to the Korea Media Rating Board.

The KMRB, which is essentially the Korean equivalent to the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) in the Philippines, "classifies films, videos, and other motion picture into age-based ratings." Based on its website, ratings are decided based on the content and degree of expression of seven factors: Theme, sex and nudity, violence, language, horror, drugs, and imitable behavior.

Out of these seven, All Of Us Are Dead received a rating of 18+ in five categories. This means that it scored higher than already provocative titles like Squid Game or Kingdom, as pointed out by Insight KoreaOmo!

When asked to break down the show’s high rating, the Korean committee explained, "Many of the violently expressed killing scenes have a high level of violence, and the repeated use of profanity and profane language has a high level of dialogue. In the overall context, violence, dialogue, fear, drugs, and risk of imitation are expressed realistically, consistently, and concretely, so they are inappropriate for young people to watch, and they may have a harmful effect."
