It’s been 20 years but rumors persist that Antoinette Taus abruptly left the Philippines to give birth in the US. Earlier this month, the 90s teen icon finally addressed the undying tsismis

Andami talagang di makaintindi bakit ako umalis,” Antoinette told Camille Prats in a YouTube vlog published on May 3, 2023.

"They say every time I go back to the States, they say I'll have [another] child again. That's a typical '90s theory, every time you go abroad. Those were the rumors that used to be popular,” the actress said.

Antoinette explained that in 2001, all her projects ended simultaneously, so she decided to try her luck in the US – not to conceal her supposed pregnancy.

“And I was like, ‘Grabe, pumunta lang naman ako ng States kasi may pangarap din ako,” she added.

She added that if it were true that she had children, she would not be ashamed of them. "There's nothing wrong with that. My only point is, if I have [kids], I would be proud of my children and share [them] with the world."

Antoinette also revealed that she decided to stay in the US with her brother Tom because their mother was diagnosed with cancer after they moved.

Antoinette was one of the most popular child stars in the Philippines during the 1990s, and starred in numerous TV shows, including the iconic Ang TV, Oki Doki Doc, and Anna Karenina, a Sunday teleserye that aired in GMA 7 from 1996 to 2002.

Her love team with Dingdong Dantes was also among the most successful during its time, and the partnership went from reel to real before they broke up in 2005.
