1. DonBelle
There's no denying that DonBelle (aka Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano) is one of the top ~*phenomenal*~ love teams of the year. With their constant social media presence and successful projects together, their ubiquitous presence is simply inescapable.
This year, they starred in Can't Buy Me Love, their second series together after the wildly successful show, He's Into Her. P.S. Fans also think that Belle already *low-key* confirmed her relationship with Donny via an interview with Vice Ganda!
2. KDLex
Another love team that is still going strong is KDLex (aka KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad). Despite Alexa initially thinking that their pairing was "unexpected," their constant slew of projects together and undeniable chemistry helped catapult them as one of the top love teams of the year.
From February to May 2023, KD and Alexa showcased their acting and singing chops and top-billed Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) musical theater project, Walang Aray. Months after, they starred in Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, their first teleserye together. And now, we're *totally* keeping our fingers crossed for the announcement of KDLex's first movie!
As for their relationship status? Well, KD admitted this year that they have been "nagliligawan with a goal." As for Alexa, she hopes that KD will be her endgame. Aww, you guys.
3. AlFia or Team Jolly
AlFia or Team Jolly (aka Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo) is one of the love teams that have us swooning over ~young love~ again. When fans noticed their chemistry on a TikTok video they posted during the pandemic, it eventually turned them into a love team.
In 2023, Allen and Sofia starred in the following series: Luv Is: Caught In His Arms, In My Dreams, and Open 24/7. Of course, their shared YouTube channel stayed active this year, and notable highlights include Allen's two-part Valentine's Day surprise for Sofia and their Hong Kong trip this year (which Allen used to *prompose* to Sofia for the GMA Gala!)
4. BarDa
BarDa (aka Barbie Forteza and David Licauco) was one of the best surprises of 2023. Fans began to notice their chemistry as they starred as Klay and Fidel (FiLay) in the highly successful series Maria Clara at Ibarra. Netizens clamored for more, and the pair delivered with their remake of the iconic 1991 film, Maging Sino Ka Man.
With their undeniable chemistry, netizens couldn't help but speculate about them, despite Barbie being in a relationship with fellow actor Jak Roberto for the last couple of years. Barbie has shut down all the talk in a media conference for one of her shows. "Yung selos, wala talaga. Jusko. Parehas na kaming aktor, alam na namin yan [ni Jak], she clarified. As for David, it looks like he was recently soft-launched by his non-showbiz girlfriend.
5. FranSeth
FranSeth (aka Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin) officially debuted as yet another Gen Z love team to look out for in the hit series Dirty Linen, which aired from January to August 2023. They also starred in the ABS-CBN miniseries Fractured as Sally and Oca. We can't wait for more projects for these two!
As for their relationship status, the pair has remained tight-lipped, though Seth admitted in a Magandang Buhay guesting in January 2023 that he actually *revealed* to Francine that he had a crush on her way back in 2019 (!!!). OMG.
