Better Than Sex: Tom Hiddleston Reciting Shakespeare

Fanning ourselves right now.

This second installment of the "Art of Villainy" Jaguar campaign featuring Thor's Tom Hiddleston came to our attention again (it was released in April 2014) after we read that Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned it for promoting “irresponsible driving.”

The ad shows Loki Tom "explaining what makes a great villain while starting a Jaguar in a garage and then driving off at high speed while quoting Shakespeare’s Richard II."

So what's the deal? According to Britain's ASA, Jaguar was instructed not to portray speeds that "might encourage motorists to drive irresponsibly in future."

In response, Jaguar Land Rover said that the ad was set almost entirely in the car park and that “during this time the car barely moved." It also had the legal disclaimers like “Professional driver. Closed course. Always obey speed limits." All these, in addition to being filmed under police guidance.

So if Jaguar followed all the ASA rules and the ad still appeared badder than usual, we blame no one else but Tom Hiddleston's sex appeal. To tell you the truth, the last thing this video reminds us of is reckless driving—we're too busy swooning over Tom's every word.
