On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Billy took to Instagram to share a letter to his father. "I'm sorry, Dad. I wasn't there to say goodbye, give you a last hug, or tell you how much I love you. You'll always be in my heart. Thank you for being the greatest dad I could ever have! May you finally rest and forever be happy in the arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I'll truly miss you, my main main! Love, your son. Billy Joe Crawford."
Billy adds a broken heart emoji to the post and salutes his father with a "Sir" in the caption.

Piolo Pascual, Dingdong Dantes, and Aga Muhlach took to the comments section to share their condolences. Ryan Bang, Kyla, and fellow musicians Ogie Alcasid, Sam Concepcion, and Erik Santos also expressed their sympathies.
According to PEP.ph, Billy’s father has been battling cancer since 2008.
In 2022, Jack was finally able to meet his grandson—Billy and Coleen Garcia's first child—Amari. It was a dream come true for the whole family as Amari was born during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, making traveling a complicated matter.
Billy shared in a 2020 Magandang Buhay episode his father's sentiments despite the tough situation. "Growing up kasi close family talaga kami. To see my dad, ang pangarap niya kapag kausap ko sila, ang sinasabi niya, 'Son, I'm just holding on para makilala ko lang 'yung anak niyo.' Matanda na ang daddy ko and maraming complications. Pero marami akong matutunan at marami akong maituturo sa aming anak [ni Coleen] dahil sa ama ko. And I owe a lot to my dad," said Billy according to ABS-CBN.
