BINI Aiah is setting the record straight about her alleged dating life. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a celebrity dating, but the 24-year-old P-pop idol couldn't stay silent amid the swirling speculations.
On the evening of March 6, Aiah took the time to post a lengthy statement on her X (formerly Twitter) account. "Hey hey hey, everybody! First of all, breathe. Inhale the good, exhale the bad," she began.
She went on to acknowledge that she's well aware of the situation and has seen firsthand how easily people can misunderstand and jump to conclusions based on differing opinions online.
ICYMI, dating rumors between Aiah and basketball star Caelan Tiongson began circulating earlier this month. The athlete himself did not talk about any romance with the celebrity. Instead, he maintained respectful boundaries between his friendship with Aiah and what he chose to share with the public.
In her post, Aiah expressed how disappointing and painful it was to see her friends' names dragged into controversy online. "I also notice that almost everyone I hang out with or surround myself with gets linked, no matter who they are, whether it's a friend, a superior, or even a relative, which I find is unfortunate," she said.
Aiah furthered, "Usually, I am just unbothered and let things be because I know what's truly happening behind all the commotion. But this time, it pains me to see that the people who make me feel safe, calm, and normal, and those who contribute to my happiness are being ridiculed and made fun of online. My friends have been such a great help to me, especially lately, and I think they don't deserve the hate."
The BINI member highlights how she hopes for kindness from everyone. "There are so many sides and truths that people don't see, and I just hope we can all be kind to one another because kindness is free, and we all need it. I hope and pray that all the hate gets suctioned out and is instead filled with nothing but love. Let's all be loving and kinder to one another," she concluded.
BINI Aiah and Caelan Tiongson's friendship
The rumor mill started turning after Aiah was reportedly seen attending one of Caelan's basketball games earlier this year. Meanwhile, the basketball star was also said to have been spotted at a BINI concert.
Speaking to OneSports, Caelan shared that he met Aiah through a mutual friend. According to the outlet, the two attend the same church, making them churchmates. Beyond that—and a comment saying that Aiah is a great person—Caelan didn't reveal anything more to the press.
"I met her [BINI Aiah] through a mutual friend and she's a great person. But I'm not gonna speak on her personal life more than that. She's a great person. That's all I'm gonna say. Love BINI. Big Bloom fan. Love their music," the 32-year-old Caelan emphasized.
