The Internet is talking about BINI Maloi today—but it's not because of her usual carousel of IG pics. Instead, it was because of an apology tweet she posted after users were offended with a comment she left on a TikTok video.
The 22-year-old P-pop idol posted a short but sincere message addressing the issue. "Saw the tweets. I am deeply sorry. It will never be my intention to hurt anyone. I respect everyone regardless of who and what they are," Maloi began in her post. She also pledged to do better by saying, "I will be more careful next time. Thank you to those who educated me nicely. I appreciate you all."
By now, you might be wondering what triggered Maloi's apology. Despite the celebrity not giving enough details about what really happened, some fans were able to provide context for most people. It turns out that there has been a clamor to educate Maloi for recent actions towards a video that reportedly mocked persons with disabilities (PWD). One Internet user who had witnessed Maloi's actions on TikTok brought the discussion to X (formerly Twitter).
In the tweet, the online citizen posted a screenshot of Maloi hilariously laughing at the now-deleted TikTok video. The fans described the video to be discriminating against the PWD community. The guy who made the video was claimed to have been poking fun at how some PWD individuals act, in the guise of dancing to the TikTok trend, "Kampana."
It's one thing to see a video on your FYP that might have intentionally mocked physically challenged individuals. But it's another thing to see a famous celebrity getting amused because of it. Case in point: Maloi.
Stan Twitter was very much immersed in Maloi's issue that almost everyone chimed in and had their own takes on what happened.

Fans react to BINI Maloi's apology
Some fans were very quick to thank Maloi for owning up to her mistake. A fan wrote, "Thank you for addressing the situation with grace and openness."
Another commented on how important it is to stay educated about these kinds of matters. "Let's all be open to being educated and help ourselves move forward from this."
But among all those who praised and accepted her apology, there are those to continue to ask for a more proper apology from the celebrity, unsatisfied. One online user said, "Anong trend ba 'to na hindi marunong mag apologize ang mga tao?" The comment pointed out how Maloi didn't even say what she did wrong but proceeded to apologize without context.

Another commenter also expressed her thoughts on how Maloi's post is a non-apology for her. "I just hope apologies like this directly addresses and mentions the people you unintentionally mocked cause this looksmanufactured just for you and your fans to say you already apologized," the commenter wrote
She added, "anyway, need niyo talaga media training."
