- The Game of Thrones premiere is inching closer, but Gwendoline Christie just hinted that her character, Brienne of Tarth, is getting that much closer to death, and I am unwell.
- Just like Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline also needed to take a long walk after reading the finale script.
Hey, are you ready for some Game of Thrones news that will make you immediately want to throw in the towel and quit the show altogether? Of course not, but here it goes! Brienne of Tarth's IRL counterpart Gwendoline Christie is finally sharing more about the finale, but she made it sound like Brienne dies offscreen, and that’s just not okay.
First off, Gwendoline told Entertainment Weekly she found out Brienne’s fate when HBO sent her the final scripts at 4:30 in the morning. Instead of skipping to the end to see what happens to Sansa Stark’s number one bodyguard, Gwendoline read it all the way through because she's a true ~acteur~ and fan of the show. Although, while reading the script, she was convinced Brienne was about to die. She explained, "Every couple of pages I thought I was dead." God, this is so stressful already.
Then Gwendoline added something that, if true, will make you feel sad. She said, "At one point while reading, I said to my partner, 'I think I died and nobody said anything.'" Exsqueeze me, WHAT!? What would make her think that? Does she come really close to death in a scene and they cut away? Or is she just not in this season very much? What. Is. Happening? Gwendoline also said that dying offscreen would be the “very worst case scenario” for her, personally.

And once she read to the very end, she said, "I had to go for a very long walk. A long walk and I did not stop. I had lots of questions."
TBH, if Brienne and Jaime Lannister don't finally DTR before her possible death, this show is equally as dead to me—until the next Sunday, of course.
