BTS just dropped Suga’s “Interlude: Shadow” ahead of their new album, Map Of The Soul: 7! It follows the K-pop phenomenon’s tradition of releasing solo tracks by individual members as teasers for new albums.
Suga aka Min Yoongi sings and raps about struggling with fame in “Shadow.” He starts off, “I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top / I wanna be a rock star, I want it all mine / I wanna be rich, I wanna be the king / I wanna go win.” Then he realizes, “No one told me how lonely it is up here… People say there’s splendor in that bright light, but my growing shadow swallows me and becomes a monster.”
He ends with the realization that “I’m you, you are me… We are one body, sometimes we will clash.”
ARMY has been at it since the video dropped—#ShadowIsHere, #ShadowComebackTrailer, #BeyondTheShadow, #ShadowBySuga, and #Yoongi are just some of the trending topics on Twitter.
Fans are *loving* the new video and lyrics:
Map Of The Soul: 7 comes out on February 21.
