Carlo Aquino definitely had a very special birthday this year. Well, aside from the fact that he just turned 39—one year closer to hitting his 40s—he celebrated his first birthday as a married man.
His wife, Charlie Dizon, uploaded some really sweet photos of them from their recent travels. By the looks of it, the two went on an Asia tour together. Charlie wrote in her post, "HBD, mon mari," which translates to, "Happy birthday, my husband."
Charlie also shared snaps of her and Carlo getting cozy at a tourist destination in Taiwan. The photos showed the couple hugging and also sharing a kiss!
Carlo and Charlie seem to be in their honeymoon stage at the moment. The two got married last June 9, 2024. And just weeks after their wedding, they also shared their travel photos as they explored Bangkok, Thailand.

The beginnings of Carlo and Charlie's relationship were quite controversial for the public. But the two thrived and proved that their love was greater than anything. Dating rumors between the two began in December 2022. In January 2023, Carlo confidently admitted that he was already dating Charlie.
But it was only in July 2023 when Charlie herself admitted that Carlo was her boyfriend already. It was during her guest appearance on TV5’s Gud Morning Kapatid morning show. “Opo, boyfriend ko po,” Charlie said happily.
During the guesting, Charlie shared that their relationship started during Star Magic’s U.S. Tour where they got to know more of each other. “Magka-work kami a long time ago. So ‘dun lang kami naging friends. After that, hindi na talaga kami nakakapag-usap. Tapos last year, nag-U.S. Tour ‘yung Star Magic, so doon kami mas nagkakilala,” Charlie reveals.
Fast forward to June 8, 2024, Charlie received one of the most prestigious awards in her career—a day before she tied the knot with the love of her life! Yes, Charlie won the 'Best Actress' award during the Gawad Urian Awards for her performance in the film, Third World Romance, which she top-billed together with Carlo.
At the time, Charlie described the award as the "best gift" she has received so far. When prodded by the media why it was the best gift, she answered, "Hehehe, abangan niyo po! Ang masasabi ko lang, best gift siya. Kaya thank you, Lord!" Back then, Carlo and Charlie haven't announced their wedding plans yet. They actually surprised the public with their not-so-secret wedding attended by their close family and friends.

As everybody knows, Carlo has a daughter with his former partner, Trina Candaza. Although it was intriguing Carlo did not invite her daughter, Enola Mithi, to be part of his wedding's entourage, it seemed that everything turned out well for Carlo, Charlie, and Trina.
On June 23, 2024, a fan page dedicated to Charlie uploaded several photos on Instagram. The photos showed Charlie carrying Mithi and they even shared a kiss. Charlie and Mithi were also spotted candidly playing together. It was the first time that the two were confirmed to be together in public.
The Internet has waited for so long to see Charlie and Mithi together. Most especially because of how Carlo and Trina had a *quite* controversial past that left people wondering if they'd be able to reconcile for their daughter. Thankfully, it looks like the two are working hard on their co-parenting setup.
