Cassy Legaspi buys quality clothes, shoes, and bags regardless of their brand.
The 20-year-old Kapuso star was asked whether she's also into luxury items like her mom Carmina Villarroel, who has been sharing her collection of designer items on her YouTube channel.
Cassy answered PEP.ph in an interview on August 3, "Not at all, super opposite po ako.
"Si Mommy, ganun, ma-luxury siya. Ako po, hindi.. parang I just think na kunware may wallet na P100,000. I can get that wallet na kunware P1,000. Parang 'yon yung nasa isip ko."
Cassy clarified though that she does invest in quality, classic designer pieces.
For example: Her Louis Vuitton Pochette Félicie crossbody bag she's seen lugging in a photo she posted on Instagram.
The bag is priced at $1,120 or around P56,000.
Cassy explained, "I'm not really brand-conscious, but my mom taught me na it's part of your work.
"You need to learn how to invest. Hindi naman parang buy all the luxury items in the world.
"But, at the same time, learn how to invest in good quality shoes, bags.
"Kasi siyempre, artist ka, people will look at you. You need to look pleasing to the eyes, dapat po maayos."
Cassy said she takes a cue from her mom about which designer items to buy.
"Every time my mom would say, 'Oh, use your money, you buy that.'
"Ako naman, 'Why will I buy those heels? Hindi ko kailangan iyan, Ma.'
"'Yon pala kailangan ko kasi sira na lahat ng heels ko.
"So oo nga naman, tama naman si Mama. Pero every time we buy something, parang nasusuka ako na ewan na, oh my gosh!"
But she has found a way to avoid spending on designer items just for display.
Cassy said, "So sometimes, I would share na lang with my mom.
"Actually, most of the time, I just share kasi hindi ko kaya, I can not! Nasusuka ako.
"Hiraman na lang. It saves money!"
