Fact: Love teams are a big deal in the Philippines. Admittedly, the usual format into stardom of most actors would be paired with a fellow budding star. And with the proximity that actors have towards each other—even if it's just for work—some love teams turn into the *real* deal. Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel), Nadine Lustre and James Reid (JaDine), and Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia (JoshLia) are just some examples of reel-to-real-life couples. (Although it's important to note that these celebs aren't together anymore.)
On the contrary, there are onscreen couples who have managed to put a clear distinction between their on-cam and off-cam love lives. Hence, there were love teams who did not date in real life. Below, check out some notable celebrity love teams who only stayed as a couple for work.
7 Memorable Love Teams Who Did Not Date IRL:

In a 2018 interview, Sharlene admitted that she might have felt the spark between the two of them but it was not enough for a romantic endeavor for her and Nash.

6. Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez
Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez's love team was definitely one for the books. Admittedly, though, their connection was indeed special—but it was professional to the core. "Sabi ko sa kanya, parang ang layo-layo na nang narating namin. Iba na rin ang concept ng movie namin. But did you know that Aga thinks Lea is a ~very special~ person to him? In a letter that went viral in 2013, Aga referred to Lea as someone who "saved him."
He began the letter by saying, "Lea is the one that got away. And she never knew."
"She never knew how she saved me. It was 1992, and I was at the very bottom of the industry. Walang-wala ako noon. Wala akong pera, wala akong (I had nothing. I had no money. I had no career) career, but with ‘Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal’ I made my comeback," Aga wrote in the letter.
Deeper into the letter, Aga praised Lea for her skills and her professionalism in everything. The letter was proof of how much Aga looked up to Lea. "Her voice is clear as a bell and as breathtaking as the sunrise," he also wrote.
