This fresh-faced, talented actress started out with minor roles before landing a string of lead roles one after the other, just three years into her acting career. Here are nine facts you need to know about Chae Soo Bin:

1. Chae Soo Bin was born on July 10, 1994.

That makes her a 28-year-old Cancer! Those born under this star sign are known to be charming and enigmatic, which means they can be wonderful company but also mysterious at times. In an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, Soo Bin talked about having difficulties showing her *real* self, saying, "Even when I was in school, I was always chosen when asked to pick a friend whose first impression and real personality was the most different.  I want to show people my true personality, but on the other hand, I am afraid. If I show the real me, then people insult me, and I think my self-esteem will go down too much. I want to show myself more when I am stronger inside."

2. She was street cast by an entertainment agency when she was in high school.

Fond of watching dramas, Soo Bin dreamt of becoming an actor when she was young but was initially discouraged by her mother as no one in the family was pursuing an artistic profession. Soo Bin recalled in an interview, "When I was in the second or third grade of elementary school, I watched dramas and believed that actors actually live their lives. It seemed so much fun to live different lives and vaguely longed for a job as an actor. When I told my mother that I wanted to become an actor, she objected because there was no one in the family doing arts and sports-related work, and she did not think that I had that kind of talent."

Things changed when a representative from an entertainment agency cast her as an actress after spotting her outside her high school. "After night self-study at school, on the way home, a man asked if he had any plans to act and gave him a business card. I kept in touch because I said I wanted to try acting when I was 20. Being an actor was a vague dream to me. It was a job I longed for because it was cool, but somehow, it became a reality," Soo Bin shared.

Talking to Esquire Korea, Soo Bin shared her perspective on acting, saying, "It is a profession that expresses the person who is learning. So I think I developed a lot of interest in people as I was doing this job. 'Why is this person acting and reacting like this?' I think what I learned while acting in the early stages of my promotions was really great. I didn't have an acting teacher but I studied while talking to the director and writer and receiving advice from seniors. In my opinion, I think that was a good thing for me."
