Vice Ganda was at the forefront of the reactions, commenting, "Ayan ganyan Chelsea! Gusto ko yang rampang parang may pinapahid ka sa gutter. Laban!"
Online users were also excited to see the return of Chelsea's signature runway walk. "That was the Chelsea Manalo who won Miss Universe Philippines. She finally unleashed it during the swimsuit round," one of the tweets said.
Sadly, Chelsea missed out on placing in the Top 12. Upon the announcement of the 12 finalists, Pinoys showcased their signature humor online. Some even joked that Chelsea shouldn't have waited for her name to be called.
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, who finished in the Top 12 during her year, also quickly offered her consolations for this year's representative. "Mahigpit na yakap Chelsea!!! Mahal ka ng Filipinas [Philippine flag emoji]"
She followed it up with a post on Instagram with the caption: "May agimat ang dugo nation! [raised fist emoji]

Parody account Senyora also reacted by reminding Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray that her work for the evening isn't done yet.
