Beyond her cool acting chops and sultry beach OOTDs, Chie Filomeno is best known for her outspoken personality. Whether she’s schooling a body-shamer or getting real about her rhinoplasty, the open-minded star is never the type to take things sitting down. By now, it’s safe to say that Chie is a total pro at shutting down bashers with wit and grace. Keep scrolling to read about her best clapbacks yet!
LIST: Chie Filomeno's Fiercest Clapbacks
1. When she schooled a body-shamer online
Back in 2018, Chie donned a stunning gown by Boom Sason at the annual ABS-CBN Ball. Although she looked flawless in the number, one netizen accused her of retouching her photo, comparing her figure to “buto-buto.” In response to the rude basher, Chie commented, “Stop already! Body shaming is not okay! It's never an option! I hope whatever you're going through now, sana malagpasan mo para maging masaya ka naman at hindi ka manlait.”

2. When she called out netizens for criticizing her chest
The following year, Chie dazzled the ABS-CBN Ball a second time in a corset-inspired terno. Once again, she didn’t hesitate to call out those who criticized her tight dress and exposed cleavage. “Problemahin niyo problema niyo. 'Wag boobs ko. Pakealamero’t pakealmera na walang wala sa lugar,” she candidly wrote in a tweet.

3. When she normalized talking about plastic surgery
In an effort to empower fellow women, Chie has always been completely transparent about her rhinoplasty. The last time she opened up about her procedure, she encountered a TikTok user who condemned her for "encouraging" Filipinos to undergo plastic surgery as well.
Composed and mature, Chie calmly reminded the basher to practice open-mindedness and sensitivity. “Parang dini-degrade mo lahat ng taong nagparetoke, parang ang sama-sama naming tao for doing something that would make us happy nang wala kaming tinatapakang tao,” she stated in her TikTok video. “I’m not saying this is the right thing to do, pero sana mas lawakan pa natin 'yung understanding natin sa topic na 'to.”
4. When she flaunted her passport photo to her critics
When Chie’s gorgeous driver's license photo went viral last year, bashers were quick to assume that she received special treatment simply because she’s a celebrity. Apart from turning down those speculations, she also took the chance to thank her lash and brow salons for making her look naturally pretty.
Part of her lengthy Facebook post read, “Sa driver’s license, pwede naman naka-makeup, 'wag lang nakakabulag na makeup, at pwede mag-hikaw, 'wag lang pang-Merry Christmas na hikaw. Okay na po ba? Let people enjoy things. Gusto ko presentable ako sa ID photos ko, kaya nag-e-effort po ako.”

5. When she won a racing competition after hearing a sexist comment
FYI, women can drive just as well as men! Take it from Chie herself, who ended up placing third at her first-ever street race despite receiving a sexist comment alluding to her driving skills. Slay!

6. When she stood up for her body
Since Chie personally struggled with body insecurities in the past, she’s all for body inclusivity and self-confidence. Case in point: She attended last year’s Preview Ball in a chic hubadera outfit that symbolized body positivity. Even when harsh critics looked down on her daring choice of clothing, Chie continued to stand her ground and remain unfazed.
