David Licauco's love team with Barbie Forteza (affectionately called BarDa by their fans) may still be in its ~early~ stages compared to others in the biz, but the actor hopes that their partnership reaches longevity similar to the long-running love team of real-life sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
This was revealed by David in an interview with Bea Alonzo on her YouTube channel where he took part in her lie detector test.
During the interview, the actor was asked if he believed that his love team with Barbie will achieve a similar longevity to KathNiel's. "Si Daniel and Kathryn... idol ko pala sila, by the way," he shared. "Yeah, I think so. Kung may sumusuporta pa rin sa 'min, in two, three, four, five years, like in simple ways."
He also noted that he's just like us—he also feels kilig over KathNiel's movies! "Nakakakilig kasi sila eh," he divulged, noting that while he has watched *all* of their films together, Crazy Beautiful You is his favorite so far.
David also revealed that there is some pressure to compete or "be more successful" than other love teams in showbiz RN, but that he uses it as motivation to do his best with Barbie.
"I guess as a business person, gusto mong okay yung ginagawa mo. I mean, at the end of the day, business ko rin yung showbiz, so I really wanna do my best dito sa love team [namin ni Barbie]. But I'm not like, hating on mga love teams na yun," he clarified.
David added that he's even ~inspired~ by other love teams, picking out DonBelle in particular for their dynamic.
"In fact, si Donny [Pangilinan] and si Belle Mariano, ang ganda ng dynamic nilang dalawa. Yung movies nila, pinapanood ko."
Welp, we're totally rooting for BarDa's success, that's for sure! Barbie and David's fans have a lot more content to look forward to from the two as they're set to star in the upcoming film That Kind of Love.
