Theater girlies, this one's for you: the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen will be coming to the Philippines! *hearts* The Tony Award-winning show will be finding its new home in the Theater at Solaire starting September 2025.
What is Dear Evan Hansen about?
The musical—which has since been adapted into a film of the same name—follows the story of Evan Hansen, a high school student suffering from social anxiety and deeply wishing to fit in. In his journey to try to fit in with the rest of his school population, he sparks a misunderstanding that quickly spirals out of control—and Evan has to confront the consequences in the aftermath. It tackles mental health, the fragility of life, and the way we live it.
Dear Evan Hansen features scores by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (the Oscar-winning composers for The Greatest Showman, ICYDK) and a book by Steven Levenson.
The production is led by director Adam Penford (Artistic Director at Nottingham Playhouse) and marks the very first time that the UK Tour of Broadway and West End phenomenon will come to Asia.
