ICYMI, Dominic Roque has just belied allegations linking him to a male politician.
In a statement he released through his legal team, Fernandez & Singson Law Offices, Dominic slammed showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin for releasing alleged "malicious and defamatory public statements" against him.
"These defamatory statements were made by Ms. Fermin under the guise of entertainment news without any effort from her to confirm the same from Mr. Dominic Roque," the statement read. It added that Cristy made "innuendos" that Dominic supposedly has a "politician benefactor," which netizens reportedly implied to Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos.
The buzz of his alleged involvement with Jalosjos came weeks after his canceled engagement with actress Bea Alonzo.
The actor's statement clarified that Bullet has a long-time friendship with Jalosjos.
"Mr. Dominic Roque is a longtime friend of Mayor Bullet Jalosjos and his family is being dragged into the public conversation because of malicious public innuendos of Ms. Fermin," the statement added.
Moreover, the statement pointed out that Cristy allegedly made an explicit reportage that Congressman Bong Suntay is one of the suspected benefactors of Dominic, leading to the public's ridicule of the congressman's sexuality. The statement also dismissed rumors that Dominic owns a gas station.
Dominic Roque on prenuptial agreement with Bea Alonzo
Dominic's statement also sheds light on their prenuptial agreement. "Mr. Dominic Roque and Ms. Bea Alonzo never fought nor had a disagreement over a pre-nuptial agreement. Reckless statements relating to the alleged disagreement over a pre-nuptial agreement between them are, not only unverified, but merely based on speculations intended to produce a negative image on the parties concerned," it stated.

When rumors of Dominic and Bea's split surfaced, Dominic was accused of declining Bea's condition to sign a prenuptial agreement. The actress has been open about her thoughts on prenuptial agreement in the past.
It was TV personality Boy Abunda who first reported about Bea and Dom's breakup on live, national television. A part of his report included bits about Dom's stance on their prenup, debunking claims that the prenuptial agreement was the cause of their separation.
"'Yung prenup po, many months ago, napag-usapan na ito. Ang nag-volunteer po sa nanay ni Bea ay si Dominic. So I don't think it was an issue," Tito Boy claimed on February 6, 2024.

Cristy Fermin responds to Dominic Roque's claims
In her online talk show, Cristy Ferminute, Cristy reportedly refuted Dominic's accusations against her. She denied the allegations that she had publicly named Mayor Jalosjos and Congressman Suntay in her reports.
"Wala po akong binanggit na pangalan. Napatunayan ko na ang condo unit [ni Dominic] ay nakabanggit sa isang pulitiko [pero] wala akong binanggit. Puro katanungan ’yun," she declared.
The showbiz columnist also defended herself and emphasized that she will not apologize to anyone.
"Hindi ako hihingi sa iyo ng patawad. Ni paumanhin ipagdadamot ko dahil kahit minsan, hindi ko sinabi na si Dominic Roque ay nakatira sa isang condo unit na pag-aari ng isang baklang politiko... Wala akong binanggit na ganun. Wala akong sinabing anuman. Walang pagdududa sa gender o kasarian ng politiko. Wala. Malins. Malinis na malinis," she said.
Moreover, she proclaimed that Dominic still owes the public an explanation of the truth behind the politician who owns his condo unit. Cristy added: "Hindi kailangan sa akin manggaling. Hindi ako nagsalita… ni hindi ko nga binanggit ang condo unit samantalang alam na alam ang address. Wala kayong narinig sa akin."
