elijah woods is back with another bop to live by! The Canadian singer just celebrated his 31st birthday and instead of fans sending him gifts, the singer-songwriter gifted everyone with yet another heartfelt song that captures both the beauty of love and the ache of heartbreak.
The Cosmopolitan Philippines team had the chance to sit down with elijah just days before the release of his new song, "Could You Love Me?". We're not kidding when we tell you that he even played a short snippet during our Zoom call last February 24, 2025—and yes, we felt all the kilig!
Ironically, as much as the song and his vocals were totally swoon-worthy, the meaning of it takes a randomly sad turn. "The song is about basically like loving a narcissist—and it's not about my romantic relationship," he says first, clarifying that it's not in any way about his wife, LOL.
"It's about this one relationship that I have had in my life, and how exhausting that was just to constantly be asking somebody for their attention, asking somebody for their love," elijah added.
In one word, the singer emphasized how exhausting it is to love someone so focused on themselves throughout their relationship. "It felt like that exhaustion, where you're just working and working and working to add something that, like somebody just doesn't want, or somebody isn't giving you what you what you need," he told Cosmo.

elijah woods' upcoming tour in 2025
Talking to elijah felt like a breath of fresh air during our busy February. He was amazingly sweet as he sincerely talked about the days leading up to his upcoming projects. "It's a really, really special one," he stated, referring to his latest single.
He tells Cosmo that he's gearing up for two big things this 2025: 1) a new (!) album and, 2) a tour that everyone's waiting for! "It's [his recent song] kind of like a great jumping off point sonically for the next chapter, and with that working towards an album by the end of the year, hopefully for tour."
elijah recently announced his Give Me The Sunlight 2025 Asia Tour which will begin in August 2025. He will be spotlighting his top tracks and his upcoming releases. elijah will be visiting Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong—and fingers crossed, he says, the tour will reach Manila.
