It's been one year since Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay tied the knot in a glamorous wedding ceremony held in Bataan on November 11, 2021, and in 2022, the couple packed their bags as they jetted off to Peru for their first-year anniversary!
In an Instagram post on November 11, Ellen shared photos of the ritual they performed and wrote, "Today, we got married again. 11.11"
While Ellen didn't elaborate on the kind of ritual that was performed, reports have said that the couple took part in a Peruvian despacho ceremony. Also called a "gratitude ceremony," it can be held on occasions such as births, deaths, healing emotional or physical illness, restoring harmony, or expressing gratitude, and for specific requests from the spiritual world. It can also be done to manifest what you want to happen in your life or the life of your loved ones.
Aside from joining the ceremony, Derek and Ellen also got to take in the sights of Machu Pichu. In a separate post where Ellen shared photos from their trip and from their wedding day, Ellen wrote, "Celebrating us today. Happy anniversary my love! OMG we're sooo married! I love you."
And in one of the couple's updates, Derek revealed he suffered from altitude sickness–but Ellen was there to nurse him back to good health. The actor even joked, "This place is so beautiful that getting altitude sickness was worth it! Thank you @maria.elena.adarna for laughing at me and for sleeping on me during this traumatic and unforgettable experience."
