Let's admit it: the public has been programmed to the usual pregnancy announcements, baby showers, and gender reveal parties from several celebrities. There's nothing wrong with having it and there's also nothing wrong if a parent decides not to have it. Case in point: Ellen Adarna.
By now, we can probably say that Ellen follows her own rules. She can't be easily influenced by the public's perception of her as a celebrity—and it can be proven by her parenting decisions. Recently, Ellen explained her view on parents conducting baby showers or the usual gender reveal parties nowadays.
Ellen's statement regarding the matter came after an online user commented on her pregnancy pics uploaded on Instagram. The commenter suggested that while some people go all out with extravagant parties, Ellen opts to keep things simple, especially for her newborn daughter.
"Mabuti pa to si @maria.elena.adarna. kahit may kakayahang mag-gender reveal and lahat lahat, still remained quiet lang. Yung kakillaa ko, di baleng lumobo ang kautangan, maitawid lang ang mga kapritso na di naman afford," the comment read.
Ellen gave a chill response—it didn't sound like she was boasting or annoyed at the remark. "Hayaan mo lang sila kung ano trip nila sa buhay. Kanya-kanyang trip lang 'yan," she began telling the commenter. Regardless of what other people would prefer, Ellen admits that she's not someone who would find herself throwing a gender reveal party or a baby shower.
She confidently added (published as is), "Basta ako wala akong gender reveal walang baby shower and wala akong utang - 'di ko trip mga ganyan hehehe."

Most people on the Internet praise and adore Ellen for her unfazed and assertive perspective on life. Moreso when the celebrity entrepreneur declared why she decided to keep her second pregnancy quiet (once again).
It wasn't about surprising the public or putting out something shocking. Ellen highlighted that her choice to pursue a silent pregnancy, away from the noise of social media, is something that she wanted from the very start. Take note that Ellen also had a peaceful pregnancy when she had her firstborn, Elias.
"Hindi ko gusto surprise. Alam naman ng friends and family and di ko naman tinatago when i go out, crop top ako kahit malaki tyan. I just didn't announce [it] because I don't need to. I want a quiet and peaceful pregnancy. [The] last thing I need are opinions from people I don't know and unsolicited advice." PERIOD!
