But on some days, some might find them unrelatable—like in this instance, where Derek was caught swearing at Ellen.
This is a familiar scenario for Ellen: she uploads something, people comment, and she replies by sharing more about her and her husband, Derek. Last week, she left yet another response to a commenter. It wasn’t snarky, but it did clarify the boundaries they have as a couple.
The video shows Ellen playfully teasing Derek while he's in a deep sleep. Eventually, he wakes up to find her literally hovering over him, with a quirky face. Like anyone getting disturbed mid-sleep, Derek groggily exclaims, "Parang gago, stupid," before turning his back on his wife and going back to sleep. For the record, Ellen didn't seem offended in the video—she was laughing uncontrollably after Derek's reaction.
As she uploaded the video on the 'gram, a follower shared their experience in comparison to Derek's reaction to Ellen's foolishness. "Para ka palang gago eh [laughing emojis] asawa ko never ako na-mura kahit anong kabaliwan ko HAHAHAH stupid!" the comment read.
Ellen understood the comment and directly responded in a kind but serious tone. "Don't worry! We're only allowed to swear at each other when we make gulat. But swearing during a fight or argument, that's a no go for us—that's a different story na." Tell 'em, Ellen! :)

If you've been following Ellen and Derek on their socials, they interestingly share a lot about their life even while keeping strict boundaries from the public. And ofc, we mean it in a good way when we say boundaries!
In fact, followers even applauded Ellen after she called out some commenters questioning her decision not to announce her second pregnancy. (Yes, Ellen and Derek are now parents to their baby daughter, ICYMI!)
"Alam naman ng friends and family and di ko naman tinatago when i go out, crop top ako kahit malaki tyan. I just didn't announce [it] because I don't need to. I want a quiet and peaceful pregnancy. [The] last thing I need are opinions from people I don't know and unsolicited advice," the celebrity mom wrote in an Instagram comment.
Liana Del, Ellen and Derek's daughter, was born in October 2024, around three years after the couple's wedding. Just this March 2025, baby Liana had her baptism, attended by her parents' close family and friends.
