The news of Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay’s second child came as a complete surprise. The couple managed to keep the pregnancy low-key over the past nine months—no signs or hints on social media, and certainly no big announcements.
Although we missed those parts of waiting, just recently, Ellen gave everyone a glimpse into her pregnancy journey, sharing a carousel of photos and videos showing her baby bump during the nine-month journey. "I prayed for a stress-free, quiet and peaceful pregnancy and God gave it," Ellen captioned.
In her post, Ellen also shared a heartfelt appreciation for her husband, Derek, who was a constant support, reminding her of his love throughout her pregnancy’s ups and downs. One of the photos shows a sweet message he left on their mirror as a daily reminder: "I love you! No matter what you do!"

Ellen also took the opportunity to thank her OB-GYN for their patience and care. She even joked about having more kids, saying, "Pwede pa 3 more, joke! I don't miss being pregnant but I miss sleeping all day and eating everything."

Ellen Adarna's Quiet And Peaceful Second Pregnancy
The first time we got a glimpse of Ellen and Derek’s new baby was when the latter broke the news in an Instagram post, sharing snippets from the hospital, including a tender shot of Ellen on the hospital bed. His caption hinted at a new season for their family.

Responding to queries, Ellen clarified that they weren't exactly "hiding" her pregnancy. Close friends and family had been aware from the beginning, but they intentionally kept it low-key to enjoy the journey quietly. "I just didn't announce it because I don't need to. I wanted a quiet and peaceful pregnancy. The last thing I need are opinions from people I don't know and unsolicited advice," Ellen explained.
Ellen is now a mother of three—Elias, her son from her previous relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz; Austin, Derek's son from his previous partner, Mary Christine Jolly; and now, "Liana."

For Ellen and Derek, this pregnancy journey was especially meaningful after a difficult experience. The couple, who married in 2021, had hoped to grow their family but faced heartbreak in December 2023 when Derek publicly disclosed Ellen’s miscarriage.
"Noong nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen. And then unfortunately, we lost the baby," Derek shared, adding that despite the sadness, they were hopeful because the experience showed them it was possible. "At least alam namin na hindi kami baog. First attempt pa lang naman," he said.
Following the miscarriage, Derek made it clear that starting a family was their top priority. He temporarily stepped back from the showbiz spotlight, focusing on building a family with Ellen and sharing that he would be selective with future projects.
"'Yun lang muna ang ifo-focus namin—to get a full pregnancy right away. TV? Hindi (ako tatanggap). Film? Nag-uusap kami ni Direk if there’s the right script, most definitely. Pero right now, Ellen and I are really focusing on having a baby. 'Pag nangyari 'yun, medyo malabo na tatanggap ako ng project kasi very hands-on ako mag-alaga," he explained.
