It's been almost a week now but the public is still reeling over the fact that Ellen Adarna just gave birth to her first child with Derek Ramsay. While people have been discussing whether Ellen deliberately kept her pregnancy a "secret" or not, Ellen got wind of the discourse and boldly chimed in.
When Derek uploaded more snaps of them being parents to their first baby girl, people on the Internet tried to make sense of how Ellen surprised the public with her pregnancy. Some Internet users noted that Ellen reportedly wanted it to be a surprise. Another recalled how Derek spilled the news about Ellen's past pregnancy, and so on.
"Gusto kasi ni Ellen, surprise. 'Yung malalaman na lang ng lahat na may baby na pala. May post sila dati," one follower commented. Ellen, who stumbled upon the follower's comment, got real about her recent pregnancy. The celebrity gave a respectful yet snappy response. "Hindi ko gusto surprise," she began explaining.
She continued to clarify that she never tried to hide her pregnancy from their family and friends. It's just that Ellen has always wanted a peaceful pregnancy.
Ellen remarked, "Alam naman ng friends and family and di ko naman tinatago when i go out, crop top ako kahit malaki tyan. I just didn't announce [it] because I don't need to. I want a quiet and peaceful pregnancy. [The] last thing I need are opinions from people I don't know and unsolicited advice." PERIOD!

Aside from that, their IG followers were already wondering about their daughter's looks. "Mana daw sa kaniya…ang nakuha lang daw sa akin ay 'yung maliit kong mukha at kaputian ko," Ellen told a commenter inquiring whether Baby Ellen looks like her dad or momma.
ICYMI, Derek shared the news of the new addition to their family on October 23, 2024. He shared a photo of Ellen holding a baby together with their son, Elias. Elias is Ellen's son from her former relationship with John Lloyd Cruz.

Looking back, Ellen hasn't been one to publicize her pregnancy. Even when she was still pregnant with Elias, neither she nor John Lloyd talked about their whole journey—until Ellen's lawyer confirmed it to the media in July 2018.
Weeks after the confirmation, separate reports indicated that Ellen gave birth on June 27 in Cebu City. Moreover, Ellen and John Lloyd gave the name Elias Modesto, to honor Ellen's late father, Alan Modesto—who passed away weeks before Elias was born.
Fast forward to years after her wedding to Derek, Ellen declared that she was ready to get pregnant once again. The 36-year-old celebrity talked about how she quit smoking and even removed her IUD (intrauterine device). "Next year na ako mabuntis […] One last na lang, and hopefully, it's a girl,” she once shared. It's also been her goal to have a baby born in the Year of the Dragon, which is this 2024. And so, she manifested the timeline for her baby, "Dragon baby kaya kailangang manganak ako after February 10 [2024] para year of the Dragon, so, naka-schedule 'yan."
Last December 2023, Derek was the first one to share with the public that Ellen had a miscarriage. But he also noted that it was their first attempt at having a baby. "Noong nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen. And then unfortunately, we lost the baby pero at least alam namin na hindi kami baog. First attempt pa lang naman," Derek shared in a press con.
