The Pinoy Big Brother fever is running high this szn—and no, it's not just because of love teams, LOL. The reality TV show opened its newest celebrity collab edition just months ago, where artists from the two media giants in the country, ABS-CBN and GMA, are living together without any knowledge of what's happening in the outside world.
The latest evictees? Michael Sager and Emilio Daez. In case you're curious why there were two evictees, this season introduces the duo-system where one Kapamilya and one Kapuso team up for tasks and challenges. Now that the two guys are out and about in the outside world, fans are thrilled to see more of them. And for this story, our hyper fixation would be: Emilio.
The 25-year-old rookie celeb is making hearts flutter as we speak. I, for one, had to stop scrolling on my feed when a video of him doing the "Kim Seon Ho smile trend" passed by my FYP. NGL, he's got the looks and the charm. So, on one of the days that we're letting curiosity win, we're about to get to know Emilio Daez more.
7 Things You Need To Know About Emilio Daez
He's a Pisces.
I know it's just a zodiac sign for most people, but to us here at Cosmo, we have to admit how we have a soft spot for our sentimental and compassionate Pisces peeps. Emilio was born on March 9, 2000—the youngest (!) of eight siblings in their family. He celebrated his 25th birthday on Marh 30, just weeks before he entered Bahay Ni Kuya.

He's the younger brother of Kapuso actor Mikael Daez.
This might be the most basic info about Emilio. It hasn't been long since he entered showbiz, but it was no secret to many how he's the younger brother of Mikael Daez. In one of the few moments that they were together on a live show on national television—specifically on Family Feud—Mikael seemed v supportive of Emilio by introducing him as "the next leading man."
Mikael and his wife, Megan Young, also showed their love and support for Emilio throughout his time on PBB. They advocated for Emilio and Michael's duo to be saved, and well, highlighted how proud they were even after their eviction night.
Emilio is an Atenista—and he loves Math.
He's got the charm and the wits, ladies. Emilio got a bachelor's degree in Management Engineering (an honors course, btw) from Ateneo de Manila University. Interestingly, he's been an Atenista for more than a decade!
In July 2023, he posted a goodbye post for Ateneo with the caption that read, "I've called Ateneo home for the past 16 years—this amazing place that taught and raised me, giving me memories that I will carry forever. It's bittersweet closing this chapter, but I'm taking some lifelong lessons and friends along with me for the rest of the ride." His graduation pic served real cuteness!

The "Bankable Achiever ng Pasig" IRL
After finishing college, Emilio hustled in the corpo world. He once worked as an investment banker, embracing the 9-to-5 job. Not long after, Emilio decided to pursue his passion for acting.
In a post following his eviction night from PBB, Emilio looked back on his decision to leave his office job and tried his luck in the showbiz industry. "It wasn't the easiest choice, but I know it was the right one. Pursuing my passion has brought me to places I never could have imagined, and walking into the PBB house was one of those moments I'll always be grateful for," he wrote on Instagram.
He landed his first leading role right before Pinoy Big Brother!
Emilio will soon be gracing our screens with his talent as he lands a role in the upcoming sports series about volleyball athletes, Love at First Spike. "Nag-audition ako. Hindi po ako handpicked. Grabe, madami akong nakalaban na artista dito sa industriya," he said in an interview with PUSH ABS-CBN.
The cast for the series was revealed on April 10, and Emilio expressed how thankful he was for the opportunity. "We were like 50 guys and sa awa ng Diyos, napili ako ni direk. Grabe, super thankful and blessed ako! It's a dream come true," he says. "As a young actor, siyempre ang goal is maging bida, maging leading man. So ito na po yung pagkakataon ko maging isang leading man and maging bida sa isang teleserye."

He's also a sporty guy.
With Love at First Spike, Emilio spent hours training to be a volleyball athlete. Admittedly, it was way different from his favorite sport: basketball. But fortunately, he's athletic enough to embrace a whole new sport for his new series.
"Coming from basketball, wala masyadong similarities pero meron in terms of athleticism needed. So definitely jumping power, speed, and reaction time. Thankfully, meron naman ako 'nun. Pero 'yung basics ng volleyball and 'yung fundamentals is something that is very new to me," he disclosed with PUSH ABS-CBN, further revealing how he fell in love with volleyball because of his training.
In another YouTube video by ABS-CBN, Emilio shares five things he absolutely can't live without—and among the list is not just his glasses and contact lens, but also his basketball!

Emilio once played a bad boy on TV.
By the way, Love at First Spike is not Emilio's first rodeo into the teleserye scene. Emilio actually starred in Pamilya Sagrado alongside Piolo Pascual, Kyle Echarri, and more (it was a star-studded affair, TBH).
Although it wasn't a lead role, Emilio treasures his experience just as much. He once revealed how he had to internalize for his role as Leon Arevalo Jr. in the said series. It was far from his usual bubbly and charming self, but it was a learning moment for him. "It's been really fun playing a bad boy because I had to step out of my comfort zone," he said.
