Avisala, mga sang'gre! Four of our favorite fictional characters just had a ~*spectacular reunion*~ and we can't get enough of it!
Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Diana Zubiri, and Karylle who played as the iconic, OG Encantadia stars reunited in a special performance during It's Showtime's November 7 episode. It's not a secret to the public that the four stars have been friends since their Encantadia days and through the years, their bond as sisters just got even stronger.
The Sang'gres were in full force to support their soul sister Karylle, whose family-themed Magpasikat segment also included Amy Perez, Lassy, and MC.
It's Showtime's Magpasikat segment comes a week after they returned on air, following a 12-day suspension due to complaints against Vice Ganda and Ion Perez's "icing" remark during the show.
Aside from being a tear-jerking show, the team provided a star-studded act as various celebrities like Roselle Nava, Fana, Taylor Sheesh, BGYO, and BINI graced the event. And of course, we won't forget to mention that pambansang ginoo David Licauco was part of their production too! It was David's first-ever It's Showtime appearance.
To refresh everyone's memory, Encantadia was first released in 2005, and tells the story of how four young women were entrusted with gems to maintain peace in their land. The gems were called, brilyante ng apoy, tubig, lupa, hangin. Sunshine portrayed Pirena (brilyante ng apoy), Iza was Amihan (brilyante ng hangin), Diana as Danaya (brilyante ng lupa), and Karylle played Alena (brilyante ng tubig).
In 2016, the hit teleserye had a remake with a new cast namely Kylie Padilla, Glaiza De Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia. This year, it was also announced that a sequel is in the works for Encantadia and it will soon focus on new characters to whom the gems will handed over. The sequel is called, Sang'gre, and will be top-billed by Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Angel Guardian, and Kelvin Miranda.
