However, fans and the press were quick to notice one important absentee—Enrique's long-time beau and former love team partner, Liza Soberano.

In his live interview with TV Patrol that night before the screening, Enrique shared that he hoped Liza would still be able to make it despite her tight schedule and rush hour traffic. The actress was coincidentally also in Manila at the time to attend a beauty brand's event in Taguig but had to fly back to Los Angeles the next day.

Inside the cinema, there was a seat reserved for Liza, located a few rows behind Enrique and the movie's other cast members. Unfortunately, Liza was not able to make it to the screening due to time constraints.

Enrique, graceful as ever, responded he "totally understood" when asked if he was sad or disappointed that Liza wasn't able to make it to his movie's screening.

In recent years, however, the reel-to-real-life couple decided to take a step back from their love team to focus on their solo careers. In 2022, Liza made the decision to take a break from the local showbiz industry to try her luck in Hollywood.

Breakup rumors immediately plagued the couple when Liza signed on to James Reid's music and entertainment label, Careless, that same year. However, Liza denied the rumors and said in an interview that Enrique is "very supportive" of what she does and said that he knew every step of what she was doing.

In a 2023 interview, Enrique affirmed his relationship with Liza, further denying speculations of a breakup. He stated that their LDR is hard, but they're both trying their best to make it *work*.

"Hope is in the U.S., she is doing her own thing which I am going to support no matter what. I love her to death. I just really support her no matter what. I know it’s hard to go on a new path, but I support her nonetheless. And who knows? You might be seeing her coming back in the near future," he noted.

And just recently, Enrique squashed the rumor mill when directly asked about the *real* status of his and Liza's relationship.

"Yeah, we're happy. We're just really busy. I think we just realized na in life parang we shouldn't just be centered on each other, we could do more, grow more on our own paths. It'll make us better," he stated.
