Actor Eric Fructuoso unexpectedly revealed an intriguing detail about her past relationship.
In an episode of Sarap 'Di Ba, Eric candidly divulged that he had a romantic history with Toni Gonzaga.
"Oo meron," Eric said after a moment of silence when Sarap 'Di Ba host Carmina Villarroel asked if he had any past relationship with Toni. Shocked, Carmina asked him a follow-up question, "So sina mas nauna, siya o si Claudine (Barretto)" Eric responded that his relationship with Claudine came first before Toni.
He even said he and Toni had a romantic thing for around three years.
Eric, who was a former 90s teen star, was questioned about his past relationships. He denied being the "chic boy." ICYDK, Eric rose to fame in the early 1990s for being part of the teen show, Gwapings. He acted together with fellow former 90s heartthrobs, Mark Anthony Fernandez and Jao Mapa.
Toni is now married to film director and producer Paul Soriano. They started dating in 2007 and officially tied the knot in 2015. In an interview with PEP.ph during the early onset of her romance with Paul back then, Toni happily shared that Paul was her first boyfriend.
"He's my first boyfriend, in-open ko ito sa publiko ‘coz I think my fans or people who trust me, who look up to me, deserve that honesty from me," the TV host-actress publicly proclaimed. Now, they are parents to two kids already, Seve and Paulina.
In 2021, Eric opened up about his separation from his non-showbiz partner. It was a rough time for the actor as he became homeless after their split. "Nung nahiwalay ako, tumira ako palipat-lipat. Dala ko lagi mga maleta ko kung saan ako pumunta. It was hard. Going through a separation, magigising ka natutulog ka sa sahig," he shared.
Now in his prime days, Eric still thinks about his maturity as a man, which he revealed was one of the reasons why her ex-wife broke up with him. "Na-realize ko, ang tanga ko pala. Mali ako dito. Dun unti-unti umayos buhay ko talaga," he remarked in a 2021 interview.
